So I have finally decided what class I will be playing come Aion launch, and because several of my friends want to roll Elyos, I will be joining them. However, both male and female leather wearers have some really cool looking gear. For example, in the picture below, I think the male set looks awesome while the female set is only average:

Plus the male set has a sweet hat to boot! However, then I see other sets where I don't really like the male armor but the female still looks really good (queue unicorn photo):

So tough to decide. I almost think that female sets always look good, while male sets are either spectacular or plain unappealing. Then again, I never see pictures of female toons wearing cool hats, and I've heard they look different based on your gender. If you can't tell, I really like cool hats. :jealous:

What do you guys think of Elyos leather armor and how it looks on males vs. females? Which gender will you choose for your scout class?

Ok my words of wisdom, altho some male armor looks sweet , pick a female. Why? Just create a male character and look how ghay "IT" moves..... -.-' Just like he has a carrot sticked in his arse, om nom nom nom what's up doc?

P.S. GO ASMODAE!

I've always been a firm believer in the "play what you are" theory with regards to character gender...

The majority of people I meet strongly disagree with me ofc and that's ok. I understand that they don't want to stare at a dudes bum for hours on end or that they want to step out of reality and role play as something totally off the wall for a while.

Its just for me, personally, I see our characters as a virtual representation of ourselves (or what we want to be). I know it's kinda of dorky but oh well lol.

Anyways as for the pictures you provided, I think they both look cool. :skip:

I think it's just mindset. Are you playing a character, or are you being the character?

I think most guys play female characters because they're not into role playing and prefer eye candy.
And the guys that play guy characters are gay.

What what?

I perfectly agree with you.

Playing a male as a male means you're gay? The fuk! It's more like, a dude playing female needs to freakin get out more often and get a real girl instead of drooling over pixels. Which is downright pathetic. The same could've been said, the guy playing female means he's a trannie, what kind of retarded logic is that?

But yeh, whatever suits the player. Their choices on what they wanna play...chixo's however should burn in hell.

To the OP, if u can't make up ur mind then if ur male play male, if ur female play female. Simple as that.

I played both the male and female versions of the Elyos and I would and will definitely go for the female version. For me it's not about the looks, it's about the movements. The running animation of the male Elyos is just awful in my opinion. I could never play a character for full 50 levels plus endgame if I don't like the animations at all.

no not quite. im rolling asmodian male personally. but if i ever went scout on elyos it would be female. im sorry but i don't feel like watching my character run like he belongs in the nyerking special olympics.

if you want to role play a retard, go for it. each to there own.

it has nothing to do with zomg sexy pixels. it has more to do with the animations looking better. as in the way they fight and run animates differently. in the elyos case, the female has much better animations.

lol i guess all those guys playing the sorceress or amazon in Diablo 2 had issues amirite?

That male armor is enough to play a male. I love that look. A "Roland of Gilead" kind of awesome. All things serve the beam.

Understandable, luckily in my case I'd rather die than roll an Elyos, even if it has slightly more advantage (sin) compared to its Asmo counterpart.

Using the logic "You should play a male if you're a male", you should also use the character creation to make your character as similar to yourself as possible... I say let people play whatever they want. I remember the poll on genders on these forums showed that over 75% were male (surprised it wasn't more), if everyone would be playing as their own sex then the cities and such would like very unbalanced genderwise.

That being said, I'm a guy and 8 out of my 9 characters in beta are males.

Something about the concept of kiting in high heels irks me.

Isn't that a good thing? That way you could usually know that you're talking to a girl instead of some horny old man, lol.

LOL... this isn't a dating game. I want to see plenty of pretty female toons running around... NCsoft did an outstanding job making them look awesome. If you're secure in your manhood, playing a female character is not a problem. I'm married by the way so the "get a real girl instead of drooling over pixels" is a completely pointless argument.
