Now, I just read the New "Q&A With Ken" and it made me realise something i'm very very happy about. I read the section about battles and sieges in the Abyss and it mentions,

"It is, however, not necessary to participate in PvP. One can go from level 1 to 50 without participating in a single PvP-battle. It will take a little bit longer, though, as the most rewarding hunting grounds often are those found in the Abyss."

That leads me to believe that the abyss is more like a "3rd Nation In between" in which its not like an instanced battle grounds like wow, but a land which you can roam freely and anywhere much like the entire game, however PVP in enabled there as well, and battles and sieges and stuff happening all around.

Am I correct in this thinking?

Yes its a giant zone...the biggest in the game. Most Raid bosses will be there, castles will be there. The whole focus of the game seems to be in the Abyss, with a constant threat of open pvp :) :) :)

See, that amazes me more because originally i had the impression of just little instances say on this small section, you win the battle, get the castle and move on, but it is truly so much more than that and that makes me giddy like a school girl. :D

Haha...Yeah i think its kind of like a combination of the best of both worlds from open pvp and RvR mixed. And lets not forget the NPC race that is going to be balancing everything out along the way :)

Yeah, its the whole idea in the abyss with the pvpve that really has me interested in this game.

I'm pretty sure everyone will be in the Abyss, unless they're 100% PvE. :P

Some of us are ^^ I can guarantee you won't see me in the Abyss often, unless I've done all the content and there's nothing else to do, which will take a lonnnng time as I'm a slow leveler.

I guarantee i will be in the abyss most of the time.. my main goal early on though is to find a guild or something, just because most of my rl friends won't be getting this due to busy times.. and i figure the abyss is going to be pretty dangerous for soloing..

You can still lvl fast if you play Casual. O:
It's usually the people who dilly dally in town that level slow.

Some people don't find pvp to be all that great and aren't die hard cold blooded killers like some of us, myself especially, I like to heal people to death.

abyss will be for hardcore players.specific the pvp ones.
i dont see casual/pve player being many times on abyss getting kill over and over again by pvp freaks.

Well, i'll be in the abyss a lot because it will make things more fun imo. but i also know that there will be times when if i am soloing i might leave the abyss due to large groups pvping..
