I think that Acc should increase damage...especially for scouts. It doesn't have to be a huge amount, I just think that it would keep people from tossing away their +21 Acc stones when they run out of room, if the attribute had more of a benefit; as I feel that Acc should be just as important to a Scout as Crit.

...besides it just makes sense to me that the more accurate our strikes are, the more damage they will do to a person...from a lore point of view.

Ummm sure, of course it is. But it is more than that. If I shoot someone in the arm, I hit them, I didn't miss. So therefore according to your definition, that is where accuracy ends. I don't agree. Because there is a huge difference between if I shoot an arrow and hit you in the arm...which you may or may not live from; and if I put the arrow between your eyes...you try to puzzle out what will more than likely happen then. That is what accuracy is about.

I disagree. Accuracy has always been about hit/miss. What you're wanting is a combined stat of Accuracy and Crit. Merging the two is a bit silly. Just live with the fact that they're different and you have the option to choose either (when comparing gear or determining which manastone to use).

I respect you disagreeing, but no, actually, I am asking for a combination of Hit % and Physical Attack, I'm not asking for Crit %.

I can live with Accuracy as it stands now, I just think that for Scouts, it should have more of a benefit -- I personally do not like Crit being the only attribute that any melee, even Templars are looking for. I like diversity, and if Accuracy, which could very easily offer more than just hit % and make sense, did so, then people's builds would be more diverse than: +Crit till you max and then +Attk.

Players will still max out crit first (well, the most experienced ones anyway), even if +hit included +attack. Also, +hit in other MMOs was mainly for PvE, which I believe is the same here as well. All PvE stuff will be found in the discount bins in Aion.

I understand what you're wanting, but we may have to live with how it's implemented. Especially, this late in the development cycle.

The only thing I can see some players taking over +crit, would be any +speed enhancements. Those may be coming now that they've introduced the stat with v1.5. Well, besides possibly +HP. Some melee players prefer +HP for survivability than anything else. So, there's your diversity. :P

Does Crit bypass Accuracy or do you have to hit to crit? I have heard conflicting statements on this in this game at different times. If crit does not bypass Accuracy, then Acc is definitely a PvP attribute...try using a polearm with no Acc and duel a scout.

Unfortunately this MMO doesn't go into that detail with attacks. I believe theres another MMO out there that actually combines FPS elements to it, you could try that one.

Accuracy in MMOs have always been about hit/missing, and I don't see why it will be any different in Aion. Yeah, accuracy can be a very useless stat since it only helps against classes with high evasion (i.e. rangers + assassins). Even if they added some attack damage...it would have to be substantially less than those attack only manastones.

There's a simple answer: critical hits. If I put an arrow on your head or through your heart, I've made a critical hit on you. Accuracy is simply whether or not I land a hit on you. It doesn't matter where, as long as it hits. It hurts more to get hit on the head than on your arms right?

You are kinda missing the point. If I shoot you in the head, versus your arm, it probably won't hurt more because you'll probably be dead, but if you survived it, yea, I would have to agree that it would hurt more. However, I CAN'T put an arrow in your head versus a hit to your body without Accuracy (or luck). So in order to score a nice, damaging, hit (on purpose), I have to have Accuracy.

As to why even though this isn't done in other MMO's (although a perfect example of what I am talking about is how AGI affects Rogues and Druids in WoW different from the way it affects everyone else)? I say, "Why not?" Why not implement something new, fresh, and different, that makes sense.

Anyhow, it's not a big deal, the stats will probably stay as they are, and that's fine. I was just throwing out an idea.

Yea i was about to say that.

To me accuracy means hitting the soft parts of a foe, so crits :sparkles:

O.o It seems obvious that if you don't land your hit, you're not going to crit. So, of course hit is going to improve your chance to crit. LOL How many RPG games have you guys played? Sorry, but this is basic theorycrafting.

Yes yes accuracy is for hitting, cept how about when you do hit and dont crit? Im talking about increasing accuracy so that when you do hit, there is an even better chance to crit rather than just dealing plain dmg. At least thats what I get from reading up on accuracy from Aion powerwiki.

Let's not get into that whole "you're missing the point." I read what you said very clearly. I am disagreeing with you. We are talking about a game though right? So hitting someone in the head in a game shouldn't instagib them. So yes, it hurts more to hit someone in the head or heart or liver rather than some place like an arm or leg or thigh. What I am trying to tell you is that the whole concept of "accuracy should do more damage" is in what we call crits.

Says hit AND crit.
So what are we fighting about again?

EDIT: Oh right, the wish of accuracy to also boost attack power. Excuse me while I go stand in a corner.

For every 200 parry/block/evade over there attackers accuracy they get a +10% chance to proc. For every 200 accuracy u get +1% chance to crit. Lame bonus, but its free i guess.

With Acc you obviously hit your target more. i.e. causing more damage.
