If you're party leader you can also do...

/sign [1-14]

...which will assign an icon above the head of whatever you have targeted.

1-4 are actual numbers. The other icons are various image types.

Off the top of my head...

7 is a Zzz symbol - useful to assign which mob should be slept
12 is a pile of poo with candy sprinkles (no joke lol) - I always used this to assign which mob to attack c.c

I believe 5 is the 'no' symbol... a red circle with a line like ghostbusters..
There's also a heart, star, green arrow, music note, hot coffee, smiley face.... and one other I can't remember.

Nice guide, as a tank however im not a fan of auto assist macros, sometimes when you are trying to maintain aggro especially with adds, people with auto assist macros just get in your way, cause when you change targets to gain some hate, they are switching targets too and it just becomes a pain in the ***.

Acually most of them are. I found myself trying to make macros and half of them failed due to not having the FIRST letter capital. They do need to change that because its pretty stupid and useless.

As previously asked any way to auto link your current loc into chat, ableit alliance, group or force, in a sense a quick macro to say ex . /A Enemy here, just killed (location) , but the location is automatic to your current location , without having to open the map and ctrl click.

not sure, i have suspicions that there are many commands we are not being told about, for example the text colouring i post ed above.

i saw some one on cnaion put the raid marking symbols in their tradespam the other day too so maybe there is something to print map markers in chat.

ergo :

make red coloured text (i know this works):

print symbols in chat (hypothetical):

[sign:1]

print current location as a map link in chat (hypothetical):

who knows i'm sure there is something there.

The command [%target'starget] does not exist in Aion. It has actually never existed. The correct variable is [%Support] which will select the target of another target, when used in correct sequence within a macro. It should also be noted that all variables are case sensitive. A few of the variables in your guide have lower case names, which unfortunately do not work (I have tried).

I tell people if they want to use a reliable assist command, that they use :

/selectbrand 1

I use /brand 1 as my "omfg-kill-this-POS-mob-right-mofo-now".
As a tank, I don't want you just facerolling on my target since I'm moving between all target to inject Emnity.

Would be a bad thing if you press your nuke button when i move to the target which is currently asleep to apply a provoke and you break the sleep.

I also suggest that classes responsible for keeping mobs CC'd to use :

/selectbrand 7

I have the coordinates, they're easy to find with /loc. But how do you know the mapcode? I tried about everything without success... And what's "heading"?

I make a Var 0 macro for the tank .. then I switch around my group members and heal , buff, etc. Then, I have a special macro for assisting the tank specifically, which retargets whoever is Var0 (the tank) and assists. That way I never have to worry about finding and helping the tank. ... and I understand what MrFoxx's concern is over people not giving the tank a chance to rebuild hate when switching targets, but they should just learn how to build/manage hate related skills better if they are doing that. As a chanter, I try to switch with the tank as fast as possible and hit the mob with debuffs... which should help the tank and not take all his hard working threat.

Heading is a geometrical value between 0 and 360.

the only value required by this chat command that you won't be able to find out in game is the region code.

to find out the region code you'll need to visit the region page of either aiondatabase.com or aionarmory.com and extract the region code from the url there, example :

[Zone] Heiron : Heiron - Aion Zone - aiondatabase.com

the map-code for heiron is : 210040000

I see one problem with your plan, which is this :

while tanking three elites, one of which is marked "1" or "skull", a fourth is being kept asleep by a mage (marked with "Zzz" /brand 7)

1. I switch to the other two to maintain emnity.
2. I switch to /selectbrand 7, with the intention to apply provoke.
3. you hit your assist macro and attack.
4. mob is brought out of sleep because it was hit.
5. mage either :
a) has to sleep it again, thus causing far more emnity than before ( and probably more emnity than I have unloaded on it due to having three live tanking targets to worry about first)
b) dies. if its early on and I haven't had a chance to provoke it yet....mob then heads for the healer.


Although I've had this happen a few times due to dps just face rolling while watching t.v. It hasn't been a regular occurence.

However, if you wan't to be a smart cookie and avoid it all together, just use /selectbrand 1.

Any tank that can't co-ordinate a battle on the fly with micro managed marks really isn't someone you wan't to be traversing catacombs full of tentacles with.
