If you're one of many who've lagged horrifically since Closed Beta 5, chances are the problem will not be solved anytime soon. The problem is that certain ISPs have routing issues when attempting to reach NCSoft's servers. This causes massive packet loss on certain hops and terrible lag almost 100% of the time. As one of these people, once CB6 appeared to be no better, I searched for a solution! It seemed simple enough, if the issue is my connection's path, I needed a new path.

So, upon some Googling, I found Gamepath. As soon as I got it working, the lag went 100% away and I have not lagged a single second since. The only issue is that every once in awhile I will randomly crash. This issue is caused by WideCap and currently Gamepath is working on a solution for the Aion client. According to them, the only fix is using Proxifier, not WideCap. But apparently Proxifier costs like $40.... so I personally just deal with the crashes.

Even if your latency lag isn't unplayable, I still think this is worth testing if you have any high latency at all. If you have like 1/2 second delays whenever you do anything in the game, this can fix that by finding the best gateway for you to use to reach NCSoft's servers.

I wrote detailed step-by-step instructions on how to get this working properly. I suggest taking a look at them, as I played for about 12 hours thinking it was working and it wasn't. Once the lag picked up again and I thought I wasted $6, I realized I screwed up installing it lol. After I fixed the issue the lag went away and I was overcome with joy!!

KFGuides - Aion Miscellaneous Guide: How to Fix Your Latency Lag

Also, there should be no worry about getting in trouble for using this software. Ayase (community rep) suggested doing just this and seeing if it fixed the lag. And all of the programs used are clean and malware/spyware free.

EDIT: Gamepath added an Aion category. So instead of choosing WoW, choose Aion North America (or Europe)

Hum.... Are you sure it is safe? I saw another post saying that it is official, NC is banning ppl for using this proxies servers.

I wish that Ayase himself could post a clarification about this.

Do we have a link or something where NCSoft officially declares that its banning the people who are using 3rd party services like Gamepath to lower their pings?

NCSoft are NOT banning proxy users [ame=http://www.aionsource.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1540969]AionSource.com - View Single Post - Regarding the recent bannings[/ame] and I would recommend using PingBoss.com and Proxifier or Proxycap as Widecap is having issues with the new restriction to the auth server for proxies =)

This program works *great* to reduce lag, but for some reason when I'm using it, I don't automatically join any channels (Region, Trade, Class, etc). Any known reason why?

I have noticed a thing which causes lag, that is a bit odd

But if I turn off the computor with "keep this session blah blah" what it now say, the shut of option that makes it so I just hit a key and it starts right back up again, I will get lag in Aion, it will come with short intervall delays of 2-3 sec

if I do a proper shutdown so I have to start the comp on the power button, this never happens.

No idea if this helps anyone, just tought I could share it
If someone finds Legi, please give us a call!

Yeah I agree, Aion is around my 50th MMO, I've never had issues like this in other games... It's ridiculous.
People say oh it's this or that but nothing to do with NCsoft or the game or their servers etc... I'm not saying it is, but it's a huge coincidence that I can play every other game fine like WoW, EQ2, WAR etc etc, but this game lags so horrifically that me and everyone I know is basically going to stop playing it if it doesn't get fixed soon..

I know this is an old thread but since I cant start any new posts Ill have to post on this one. Anyways Im having a real bad lag problem with this game. Outside of the game I'm pinging between 18-55ms, now when I log into Aion Im getting 300-1200 is this a server problem, ISP problem or maybe even my onboard card problem. Any help would be appreciated this bad of a ping makes this game virtually unplayable as I have like 5 second delays on almost everything I do. Thanks. Traceless/Ariel Server.

Sorry, not paying $6 or ?4 or whatever the current exchange rate is, a MONTH for software that MAY fix 'lag' issues. Frankly I see no proof that its the ISPs faults.

Facts and source people. Anything else is a bunch of speculative baloney.
