Hm, what operating system are you running? I am also on a network, I use vista, and didn't have an issue.

You could also try contacting Gamepath's support, as they'd be able to help you much better than I.

As far as other services, there are lots. Basically, just search for proxy connections. I just think Gamepath is one of the most widely used and safest to use due to its WoW fame. Most others will put a lot of spyware on your computer.

Im having a similar issue atm and system restoring does not help at all... My browser is apparently unable to load all sites... None of my applications are able to log on to the web...posting this on my housemates computer, help please :( Apparently i think it has to do with the registries gamepath tried to put in...

To be honest this lag issue has me a bit stumped. I play EQ2 still and get 250-300 ms ping to them from where I live in Australia (and I presume the eq2 servers are somewhere in the US). I alos play AOC and get the same thing. Yet when I connect to the Aion severs I can play on one character for hours with pings of about 500 (still high but playable) to the same ridiculous figures others are getting (2500, 5000 or higher etc with the famous rubber banding).

This sadly could be a deal breaker for me with thsi game. I am really enjoying the game so far (when I can play it normally) but if this is to be ongoing it will make the game unplayable and hence won't survive beyond my free 5 weeks.

Good luck NCSoft - I hope something is sorted soon as I would hate to see what appears to be a very good game ruined by lag (Oceanic servers for the win).

You really should either check Gamepath's forums for a similar issue or contact their support. That hasn't happened to me or anyone else who I know has used Gamepath, so I'm not sure why that's happening to you.

Unfortunately, I have nothing to do with Gamepath lol, so I can't help you =\ I just simply don't know =(

Tried the program, it did reduce lag a bit, but with the other crashing errors in Aion I still cant play very long >_<.

BUT I am starting to worry, ever since I installed the gamepath and putty and all that stuff, I cant even log in unless I have the putty.exe running.

Is this normal? so basically I HAVE to be running putty and gamepath to log in, If i just delete everything will that change and go back to normal?

In order to log into Aion with Gamepath, you have to enable Widecap and then run putty. If you don't run putty, but still have Widecap enabled, you will be unable to log into Aion.

To fix this, simply right-click the little widecap icon in the system trap and uncheck the 'Enable' option. If widecap isn't in your system tray, then go into wherever you installed it and run the .exe to make it show up there. Alternatively, you can delete the Aion.BIN file you placed into widecap for the same effect - but that makes it more of a pain to turn it back on in the future.

If i disable widecap and such, i still get the stuff:
Cannot authenticate to the login server.
Seems something in the Register gets fcked up after Putty ?
How is this fixable..

i have the exact same problem Zankou, "Cannot authenticate to the login server" error if i try to log without putty

edit: i think it might be cuz widecap modify you AION.bin file, ill try deleting it and then repairing aion

I don't know. As I've said, I'm not a Gamepath tech or anything. So my knowledge on the subject is very little. If you can't figure it out, try contacting Gamepath. Sorry =(

and my ping went from about 500-700 to 250-270, i'm not sure if i will subscribe to it though.

OK, to solve this problem, open widecap and uncheck the AION box and click apply. This will allow you to log into aion no problem

Here is another fact..you are wrong. There are people who are lagging hence the tons of posts about LAG. Secondly, to automatically assume its the OP's computer gives you amazing analytical skills beyond that of the normal computer geek mortal. Thirdly, NCsoft has posted about there being a problem with the hop junctures and where they end up causing timed out errors between ISP and NCsoft.

I used to get really high pings, around the 1.5k up to even 4k at times, then i found this thread and it all dropped to about 300 using this program.

Pretty neat, however i feel kind of crappy having to pay not only for the game i play but also for another software just so i can play the game i already payed for...Bleh!

Widecap is veryyy bad, it interferes with your system somehow. e.g when i was using it i couldn't even launch Champions Online. Uninstalled it and i could. Highly recommend proxifier, and if you dont want to pay for it then just google something for it ;)

Has a script that will change TCP protocol and othere stuff ya can read in the description of the program.
I used it for wow and dropped me to 80ms steady and I'm playing Aion at 100 ms steady.
The script makes the fix really easy to implement and you can also revert the change really easy for it has a script to revers the changes.
