Anyways, that was my joking way of saying "Please, for the love of all that's holy/unholy, don't make fugly characters!" Subtlety fail, it would seem.

All i see in this thread is alot of people calling players that play the opposite 'sex' Avatars wierd? Because they want to immerse themselves with there same 'sex' avatar?

Now the only wierd people i see are the ones that give a damn about what sex is playing what sex and are not comfortable with there own.

This is a 'GAME' not an online dating site, though i do know people that are into that but each to there own.

So GET over your selves! play what u feel like playing for any reason you like who cares long as you enjoy it right?... lol

Indeed most people will make female avatars for the Mage classe, same goes for assasin (bit less). Other more "manly" classes like Gladiator will be more male-populated, but who doesn't like looking at a hot girl in plate armor ?

:skip::skip:

Everyone likes looking at a hot girl in plate armor.

That being said, I will be playing a female sorcerer. I really like not only the way they look in their armor but their casting animations as well far more than that of the male sorcs.

Each of my characters has their own story, I used to be a big RP nerd. So my Sorcerer in any game has always been female while the Healer type ends up male. And I have to say one thing, I am so grateful for the customisation options in this game. I was so tired of seeing all the steroid-induced male avatars in WoW and AoC.

I rather look at a bunch of pixels depicting a woman's behind than a man in dress.

I see nothing wrong in gender-bending in mmo's. To be honest, in most games male character either look like if they were some teenage models or just metro-sexual (I personally like crude looking things). Also in most games armor look like **** on male character - apart from plate/heavy armor. So, if someone likes to play a female toon just because the look usually ten times better in every armor than male toons, I see nothing wrong in that.

And it is not only teenage boys who do this. If what do you say if you know that real-life girls play male characters? does that break your immersion badly? :what:
I understand perfectly those who want to stick into one gender. I can play as both. I won't dislike playing games like heavenly sword just because I can't play male character there :P
And just to add... I am not homo -.-;

Actually I choose gender depending the class I’m playing...if I’m playing with warriors I choose males and for the ranged and mage classes I prefer females

it’s just stupid saying that playing with males or females is wrong

Personally I dont really feel my toon is an extension of myself so from time to time I will play female toons based on how each gender of that race looks. For instance I thought the human males in WoW were ridiculous looking and always made female humans..

also I'll agree with the whole " i'd rather stare at the backside of a girl for hours" arguement :kiss:

there is another thread about this somewhere....hrmmm, but yes, i prefer to play female chars as i am female. i've found that when i've played male chars people respond differently to me (they assume i'm male, and relate to me that way). playing a female helps me immerse in the game, and truly, i don't care about muscles or shoulder width, but getting to choose my curves is very satisfying.

I hate to break it to ya, but unless you're in vent with the people you're grouped with they STILL assume you to be a guy and relate to you that way regardless of you playing a female toon.

That.
Back in the day I tried to be a gentleman, not because I wanna hit on someone but simply because I'm usually nice around girls.
But nowdays I don't give a fuck if there's a male or female toon, I concider them as male until they proof me wrong. Only the guys who play female chars are to blame for that. =p

I think what I've heard most from guys playing female characters is that they'd rather be staring at a woman's butt all day rather than a man's. I couldn't care less which I'm staring at. My character will be male (my main anyway).

I haven't seen so many male character as mages yet, but normally I do prefer how the female characters that are mages. Either way if I am rolling a mage I am rolling as a male character or any other character for that.

Just because of one incident a long time ago, where someone was hitting on a female character that I made. Dunno if it was a joke or not :p As I did make my nickname a sentence that was written in male form.

I might roll a female depending on how they look later, though I don't think the male characters will look that bad :p

Half my toons are always male and the other half female. I usually choose which armor looks best when deciding whether it will be a female or male. Since Aion has two classes for each armor rank (plate, cloth, etc) I can have a male and female for each. My main however is always a male.

I sorta kinda like the robes on males but after seeing the newest lvl 50 Daevanion armor I love the female one. If they had better clothing for the females (like that one SM wallpaper with the Fire Spirit behind her, love that robe) I'd like them better, as it stands now their outfits aren't really even outfits.
