Hello all,
Like it says this is my first time to ever touch an MMO. Why? Dunno, guess they never really appealed to me for whatever reason, always been more of a FPS, Strategy and racing kind of guy, needless to say I love it and I'm hooked.
Not only that but being that it's my first MMO ever, I would like to congratulate NCsoft for making it a very intuitive and for the most part painless and straight forward experience. I had no idea what to expect, haha in fact I had no idea about quests, so here I am ranking myself up by freaking killing everything in sight! UGH!
Anyways, I couldn't be happier, in fact after I played the beta I went and tried a few other MMO demos and WAR is about the only one I like, so I stuck with it for a while, granted it has...issues we'll say...I've still been pretty with it, plus it helps that I'm a pretty big Warhammer 40k fan (even though it's not 40k).
But yes, graphics, lack of lagging, quests, gear drops, options, option and more options, flying, character customization...I could go on forever, I give Aion nothing but praise, it wasn't complicated jumping right and more or less feeling right at home...versus the first couple days I felt like everyone could tell I had no idea what I was doing...haha
Well, that's about it, I can't wait to go Live!
Oh, some of you might ask what class I'll main roll...most likely Gladiator or Templar, not only do that fit my "style" of play but they're the most forgiving as far as messing up...it's not hard to always know to choose the biggest weapon with the most dps and smallest speed (I know it's a lot more than that but still) and plus, I get to wear plate armor...giggidy. Or maybe Ranger or Assassin...

Cool. Too bad you chose Eylos though... you seem a nice enough sort otherwise.

Haha, who said I chose Elyos? I've actually got an even mix of both races, 2 of each, especially Glads and Temps

Oh, one thing I really appreciate in Aion is how they auto organize the quests and what levels you need to be all in one nice clean window, very nice.

I just couldn't get past the graphics of WoW that and they seem to have copied so many ideas from Games Workshop that I kinda lost a lot of respect for them. Granted they've got great story arcs to Starcraft and Warcraft but...it's just not the same to ever since I learned that.

lol, why is that? WoW was my first MMO. But, since I have at least played AoC(got boring) and Warhammer(got boring even quicker).
because the majority of newbies who played WoW as their first MMORPG, take WoW as the standard for everything.
eventually they get bored of wow,and wanna play something new, but if it isn't like WoW, then it sucks.
however,i don't mind open-minded wow players who are really looking for a change and ...well,dont see wow as the God and Origin of MMOs and expect every other game to be the same.

This is a good MMO to start with because the character movement is nice, and it has easy to find quests for leveling. Nothing ridiculous to turn u off like dropping all your gear when u die either. thats about all u need to get hooked for your first mmo i played ffxi and it was the worst mmo i've ever played , but i was hooked right away.
