I figured it was time to start an actual roleplaying thread since Mark made a forum for it and people haven only used it to talk about cheese so far. (not that there's anything wrong with cheese) Now I understand we don't have a lot of info for locations, abilities, etc but we can make stuff up.

The Rules:

Level: Everyone is of equal level unless you wish to roleplay your character lower, in which case, state so.

Character Sheets/ First Post:
You must PM me a character sheet before posting. This will hopefully prevent anyone and everyone from posting randomly without an established character. Once I approve you, post your character sheet and introduction post.

IC / OOC: IC= In Character and must preceed any post being made on your character's behalf. OOC: means Out of Character and can be used for explaination, comments, etc that aren't what your character is doing.

TAG: You must tag any players you are interacting with.

EXAMPLE= John pulls from his last power reserves to send a giant fireball towards Mr. Frisky in hopes to burn every last follicle of mane hair off of him. TAG: Mr. Frisky

God Modding: No God Modding when other players are involved. For example, you cannot simple say: Gus swings his uber-sword and cleaves Fred's hand off. An acceptable post would be: Gus swings his uber-sword and Fred's exposed hand. Were he not to move it in time, it would surely flop to the ground. It is then up to Fred to roleplay his way out of the attack.

Overall, this is for fun. I'll do my best to moderate the posts to no one over powers themselves, and its up to everyone to be realistic. If there are three people attacking you, you should probably run or get some help quick.

STORY: This takes place during Aion's timeline. The Balaur have escaped their entrapment and dominate the Abyss, cutting off supplies of Aether to both factions and governing the fortresses of old. The Asmodians and Elyos remain bitter rivals and all three factions continue to wage their war within the Abyss.

Character Sheet:
Name: (your character's name)
Race: (you can pick any, but Elyos/Asmodian is preferred since its who we know the most about)
Class: (please only choose from the 8 main classes unless you only prefer to be a merchant/crafter type for roleplaying purposes)
Age: (duh)
Description: (appearance, clothing/armor, weapon, mannerisms)
Biography: (Your character's story, past, etc.)

Send the above info to me in a PM and once I approve your character, re-post your character sheet in your first post so everyone can know you. Asmodians and Elyos start in their respective sides of the world.

Have fun all!

Name: Knite
Race: Elyos
Class: Templar
Age: 25
Description: Dark skin, white hair, and light blue eyes. Full polished silver platemail and an engraved shield and longsword. About 6'0"
Biography: A longstanding fighter in the war against the two abominations of the Abyss, Kntie has devoted his life to protecting those who fight along side of him and ridding the world of the evils that threaten them. The leader of a small band of chosen Knights, he is usually a high priority target on the battlefield.

IC: Knite
Abyss fields

Knite stood proudly over the corpse of a Balaur bloodmage. Feeble things, casters were, but surely a contender against any given the right circumstances. This mage did not have the advantage of those circumstances. Nor did they often travel alone. In a blood-chilling cry a berserker burst from behind some nearby boulders in a grand and ferverous leap, his bastard sword clanging loudly against Knite's shield. Swipe after swipe, the rage boiled in the draconian eyes of the warrior.

The onslaught was terrible but as with any who relied on power alone, a weakness would soon expose itself. Knite took the offensive with a mighty swing of his shield, pushing the two-handed grip of the berserker awkwardly to the side and with a thrust, his longsword plunged between the plates of the Balaur's armor. Crouching down, two small areas on Knite's back began to glow before a brilliant pair of white wings appeared in a burst of light and with a powerful flap, Knite lifted from the ground, his sword dragging upwards through the Balaur's chest. With a kick off and a backflip, the blade was removed, and Knite was one the ground once again, the hulk of a warrior in front of his swaying for a moment, before crashing to the ground with a loud clang.

Two more down. He thought to himself as he began to walk back towards the portal home.

Name: Gahr Darkrage
Race: Elyos
Class: Spiritmaster
Age: 23
Descrsiption: Light silvery hair and peircing dark blue eyes. Stands about 5' 10". Wears a long dark blue trenchcoat with loose fitting banded white leather shirt and pants underneath. Shoes are light grey leather boots with intricate stitching.

Biography: Generally a quite man Gahr lets his actions speak for themselves. He wil not hesitate to aid those in need, even at the risk of his life. Gahr has trained his mind and body to become one with the elements and thus has earned the respect of four spirits who travel with him on his journeys. Valk the earth spirit, Siil the water spirit, Tesh the air spirit, and Bukor the fire spirit.

IC: Gahr

Knite began his walk back towards the portal. He felt a strong breeze to his back that felt almost alive. He turned around to see a balaur assassin being held four feet off the ground by his neck. The creature holding the wretched balaur looked almost like a lion with every gust changing it from solid to gas as it seemed to flow with pure energy.

A man strolled out from around the great elemental with his hands in his pockets, "You know...If I had Quina for everytime I had to tell you I told you so." Gahr said as he snapped his fingers. The giant beast reacted immediatly to gahr's command and began violently shaking and clawing at the defensless balaur. If the balaur could know fear, this one would know it's depths.

"I said I saw a third balaur near here and if we attacked we would no doubt attract the attention of that and possibly others." Gahr turned his attention to to the broken but still breathing balaur. "Tesh come here." Gahr spoke in a almost ethereal tone. The Great Air spirit flung the balaur high into the air and walked casually over to it's master. Then Gahr made a large swipe in front of him with his hand in the shape of a blade and the balaur's head was severed from his body as if by the air it's self.

OOC: Welcome Zecks and Gahr. Zecks, feel free to begin where you like. You can choose to know our characters or roleplay a first meeting. Up to you!

IC: Knite
Abyss Fields

Knite kicked some dust at the headless creature. "You've got to watch your back out here more than I do. Mine's an inch thick worth of metal. You're the one running around in your bath robe." He said with a smile.

His lip curled up a bit in disgust as he took a glance at his blood covered longsword. He gave his arm a flick in a vain attempt to remove the red sludge. He took a look at the three bodies again. "Where do these things keep coming from? We kill dozens a day and there seems to be no end." He finished, looking around for any other lurking dangers.

IC: Gahr
Abyss Fields

"Someday friend, someday this awful war will end and we can again have peace in atriea." Gahr spoke with a cold tone that made his statement sound more hopefull than factual.

Gahr began to scratch Tesh behind the ear as she sat down next to the two of them. "and as far as these 'bathrobes', at least I'm not lugging around 100lbs of junk with me everywhere we go." Gahr let out a small chuckle and big smirk. He knew it drives knite crazy to refer to his rather exceptional armor as "junk".

IC: Knite
Abyss Fields

"Someday friend, someday this awful war will end and we can again have peace in atriea."

"Yeah, maybe. The last war was a thousand years and ended in this." He said waving his hand around the area. "I can't imagine what else we could do to this world. Anyway, lets check in back at the fortress." He finished as his wings flourished into existence in a brilliant light.

"and as far as these 'bathrobes', at least I'm not lugging around 100lbs of junk with me everywhere we go."

Knite laughed. "You just need to bulk up a bit. Pick up a sword once in a while instead of making Fluffy here do it all for you." And before Gahr had a chance to respond, he was in the air and heading back towards base.

He stopped in mid flight upon getting within viewing distance of the fortress. The Divine Order had reclaimed it in their name from the Balaur months ago and had held it firmly with no repercussions from the race, but what Knite saw unfolding was a large assault from the scaled creatures- at least 20 of them attacking the main gate, which even at a far glance wasn't going to take much more abuse.

He didn't need to say a word to Gahr as the two increased their speed towards the battle. Suddenly, from above him, Knite was hit hard as a winged Balaur slammed into his back. He flipped through the air uncontrollably for a few moments before regaining his composure and pulling around. It was coming straight for him again and their speed was increasing.

As the two closed in, Knite reached to his back and flung his shield in front of him as he lifted his body vertical and caught its bindings with his foot. Throwing his momentum and weight into it, the shield slammed hard into the Balaur's skull, who instantly went limp and began to twirl towards the rocky ground below.

Kicking his shield into the air and grabbing it, Knite entered a diagonal dive towards the rest of the fight, his sword ready for combat once again.

IC: Gahr
Abyss Fields

Gahr watched as knite was struck hard from above sending him plummeting to the ground. He looked up to see two more Balaur with clubs the size of small children bering down on him fast. Gahr began chanting in an ancient dialect as a small red glowing orb began to form between his hands. The first Balaur attacked with a ferocious roar and gahr narrowly dodged the brutish attack. The second Balaur saw his opening and connected hard with Gahr's right shoulder. Gahr fell into a flatspin and continued to plumment as he closed his eyes and concentrated on his spell. The balaur dove hungrilly after gahr each wanting desperately to be the one to administer the deathblow to the falling deava. The three fell farther and faster with the ground gaining on them at blinding speed. The two balaur ignored the fact that they were plummeting focussing only on their bloodlust towards the man just a few feet away. With less than 50 yards till impact gahr opened his eyes and smiled. With great intensity he flapped his wings and quickly maneuvered himself above the two beasties. Still falling the Balaur tried clumsily to compensate for such an agile move but ran into each other instead. Gahr hoisted what looked like a small sun the size of a beach ball above his head. The sunlike orb seemed to spew fire from the very depths of hell its self. Gahr hurled the orb at the two unlucky balaur and they watched as it exploded right in front of them careening them straight into the ground breaking every bone in their bodies.

Gahr flew desperately to get away from the aftershock of one of his most powerfull spells. He only made it 100 yards before the shockwaves knocked him out of the sky and straight into a nearby field. He rolled along the ground longer than he'd like to ever remember and gave himself a moment before finally picking himself up and brushing himself off. Gahr looked to the sky and saw knite already speeding towards the fortress. Gahr gave himself a quick stretch as an athlete would right before an event while his angelic wings reached for the heavens. And with a powerful flap, he was once again soaring into the sky. He let a small smirk cross his face, "They really don't know who they're messing with."

*I really want to try roleplaying but ..Damn O_o i cant do it so well, at least not used to it, most rp guild i joined were only doing small rp that couldn't even be called that. Although some were more like friendly talks in a Tavern, small but comfortable ^^*

IC: Zecks
Entering the Abyss Fields

As Zecks exits his portal he senses a power struggle close by. Closing his book of spells the portal vanishes and he starts heading towards the cliff to see what it was about. When he reached it the sight of battle in front of a huge fortress was raging on. "Balaur..." he said to himself. He then noticed the air battle that was going on close to the Fortress, and a second after that a huge explosion engulfed what seemed to have been two balaur. The caster who was probably the one to kill them was sent flying away due to the shockwave of the blast but did not seem harmed.

Knowing that Zecks jumped off the cliff, followed by a shimmering light that then turned into wings, and started heading towards the fortresses gate. Opening his book of spells he began chanting a ancient dialect. Focusing his powers a lightning field started to surround him and empower him. As he started decending towards the field of battle his glowing electrified eyes stared at his first group of targets. When he was directly above them he raised his left hand to the sky as if pulling something from the dark clouds above. At that moment the wings disappeared into a great white flash, causing him to drop down straight towards the group of Balaur. as the flash of light caused their attention to look up they were instantly surprised about the fact that a pray was falling towards them. With a greedy smile on their faces they raised their weapons towards him and prepared to impale him to death. As Zecks was falling towards them his raised left hand was covered in lighting sparks. With a angry stare he grasped a electric orb that appeared in his hand and threw it downwards towards the Balaur, the orb vanished but at the same time the dark clouds started to dance violently and then in a heartbeat a mass lightning storm crashed down towards the enemy, completely avoiding Zecks.

The Balaur were instantly destroyed as it hit them and the ground, making it explode from beneath them as well. Zecks landed in the crate that was created by the lightning storm with one knee on the ground. Raising his head towards the fortress his face became serious as he says. "Your in my way"
He then raises himself up and starts walking out of the crate towards the gates. Chanting again a different spell he stares at the zone of combat , seeing the protectors of the fortress fighting so well against that many he thinks, "They are indeed Powerful as i have heard of, perhaps enough to end all of this one day.."

IC: Knite
Outside the Fortress

An explosion erupted behind him and he smiled to himself knowing whatever had gone after Gahr had hugely under-estimated what they were attacking. The explosion caught the attention of a few more of the Balaur bringing up the back as well. They turned to see Knite standing tall with his head slightly lowered. His shield and sword were gripped loose at his sides. Raising his head to meet their angry stares, he pulled his shield up and banged on its front a few times with the hilt of his sword as he stepped a foot forward and readied himself into a defensive stance.

The three charged, one after another towards him. As the first drew near, Knite took a step forward and with a full wind up, swung his shield in an arc in front of him, catching the first assailant across the face and causing him to stumble off to the side, dazed. With a fluid motion, he took step in and brought his sword around from above his right shoulder diagonally down the chest of the second Balaur, stepping forward and turning as the sword scraped the ground by his left foot after completing its arc. Continuing the fluid attack, his body turned and he threw his weight into an elbow into the sternum of the third foe, followed by a backhand swipe of his blade that slit the enemy's neck.

Now back to the first. he thought to himself, but a moment too late. The first had regained its composure and slammed its mace between his armored shoulder blades hard, causing him to stumble forward into a roll. Now Knite was back on the defensive. Blocks and parries countered a frenzy of powerful swings as Knite almost ran backwards against the enemy's onslaught. A quick glance behind him showed a large boulder in the path and upon reaching it, he dug his heel behind him onto the stone and pushed forward with his leg and shield surprising the Balaur who was caught up in his own momentum and knocking him into his tail. Knite stood for a brief second and stared at the creature before bringing his shield across its face hard, snapping its neck.

In front of him, another group of Balaur had taken notice to the happenings and as they began to advance, the skies filled with clouds and streaks of lightning ended their short retaliation. Looking up, expecting to see Gahr, Knite was surprised to see another he hadn't seen before. A quick nod showed his appreciation, but now was not the time for small talk. Knite stretched his sore back a brief moment and began to run towards the entrance of the fortress where the Balaur had just succeeded in demolishing the doorway.

IC: Gahr
Outside the fortress

Gahr watched a great lighting blast smite a group of balaur foolish enough to attack the Divine Order head on. Gahr allowed himself a small smirk as the thought of meeting a person with mastery over such a powerfull spell crossed the back of his mind.

Gahr brushed such thoughts aside to focus on the battle at hand. There were still many Balaur left and even with this newfound ally they were still vastly outnumbered. Gahr began to mumble something to himself as he closed his eyes. He pointed his outstreatched arms towards the ground in front of him and the earth began to shake. A giant root-like arm seemed to punch it's way straight out of the earth where gahr was pointing. The arm pushed on the ground to raise the rest of it's body, that can only be described as a giant tree. It crawled it's way from the earth and stood next to it's master. "Come Valk ," gahr said flatly "we have some uninvited guests."

With those words the Balaur broke though the outer gates.

ooc:True that Gahr, although my rp is not as good as Knite i will try ^^

IC:Zecks
Closing in on the Fortress.

Zecks saw that the gate had been breached and started to run. Holding his last chant he maintained concentration while running. As he closed in on the gate he noticed on the left side that a group of Balaur were still fighting a few Protectors so far from the gate. While on the right side a unknown Elyos warrior was speeding towards the gate. Seeing as the numbers favored the Balaur he stops and turns towards the enemy "At least i know help is on the way towards the fortress" he thinks.

Finishing the last chant, he stretched out his left hand aiming for the rear of the Balaur. Making a loud yet short shout, he alerted the Balaur of his presence. At the same time the electricity that was covering his arm started to gather at the tip of his fingers creating a small orb on each of them. The Balaur attention was now focused on Zecks, while the current enemies was still engaged in a battle against the gate protectors the rest started charging towards him while letting out a huge roar. "five of them" he said to himself.

With a small motion from his left hand the electricity discharged from his fingertips, forming into a lightning that headed straight towards the two leading Balaur, striking them so hard that they were killed instantly and thrown backwards. The Balaur close behind them did not have time to evade the two and was hit with a large force, knocking him down along with them. The other 2 were however quicker at evading and charged passed the fallen ones and straight towards Zecks, thinking he could not get another spell ready in time. As the two Balaur were almost in striking range Zecks quickly put his left hand on his right shoulder, as he does so a disoriented force covers the left hand, growing more and more. The two Balaur noticed and leaped at him to cover the last few meters, hoping to strike him before he could release. Zecks however had already charged enough. He swung his hand in a large motion at the direction of the two airborne Balaurs shouting "Shockwave!".

The moment he said it the disoriented looking spell burst from his hand in a wave like form, hitting both the Balaurs in the chest, stopping them in mid air making them fall hard on the ground on their backs. After he released the spell he closed his book and placed it on his belt, then started chanting another spell with great speed in a strong stance looking half way down, as if he was about to release something huge.
His Face started to change from serious to what looked to be anger, yet his voice was still calm and smooth as he chanted. The third Balaur that had fallen behind had recovered from being hit with 2 dead heavy weight Balaurs and had already started running towards Zecks. The two that were hit by the shockwave were a bit disoriented but were still already on their feet's.

As they were only 5 meters away from him, the third had already caught up to the two and they were all raging towards him like mad dogs. Zecks however had gone silence but was covered in some sort of flaming barrier with raging fire dancing around it. With their weapons they took the last step, thrusting it towards Zecks. But the moment their weapons touched the barrier, the weapons stopped half way in towards him. Zecks head raises up to look at the Balaur who were trying to force their weapons further in but without success. Zecks inhaled greatly, then said "Begone from my sight you abominations!" then he thrust both of his hands straight forward while shouting strongly. The Barrier started to radiate greatly, expanding and then without warning, Exploded , incinerating the three Balaurs. The explosion released a blastwave of fire in a nova like form, smashing the nearby large rocks and blowing dust up from the ground into the sky. As the dust started settling down Zecks lost his balance and fell forward landing on his knees. He breathed heavily while trying to recover from the immense drain the spell caused. "Thats one spell i wont be able to use for awhile" he told himself with a tired voice.

He then heard the sound of metallic footstep closing in on him. He looked up to see the gate protectors emerging from the dust clouds. He knew then that there was no time to rest and got back on his feet. As it looked like they were about to say something he said " We can save the chat for later, right now i believe you have a gate to reclaim". With those words the leading guard nodded and signaled the others to head to the gate. They ran with great speed despite having such heavy armor.
As for Zecks he grabbed his book. And began walking towards the gate again in a steady pace " lets not get ahead of ourselfs" he said, "No point in running into a fight Exhausted."

Name: Roy Volt
Race: Elyos
Class: Cleric
Age: 21
Description: Roy stands at roughly 6'1" tall and 170 lbs. He has laid back blue hair and deep blue eyes to match. He wears the basic magic-amplifying robe of the Clergy and wields a mace of custom make.

Biography: Roy has dedicated his life to the Clergy and learning the ways of the healers to help the battle against the Balaur, though he is still learning. Roy is not completely against the Asmodian. He sees them as Daeva as well, nothing more and nothing less. While Roy is not on active duty or working within the Clergy, he is working as his fathers smithing assistant, learning to make weapons. It is obvious Roy is larger than most other cleric, however he uses this to his advantage and practices with his mace as often as possible.

Roy watched the battle rage on with hawk-like eyes, though he watched his own comrades closer than he watched the dreaded Balaur. He was just waiting for one of them to slip up, to miss their mark, then he could step in. When one of the knights took one too many hits, Roy was already in action. He closed his eyes and chanted, small white orbs forming in the palm of his hand. He opened his eyes and finished the incantation, causing the orbs to flow from his hand like strings towards the weakening knight. The lights wrapped around the knights body and sunk through the armor, healing his wounds at a miraculous speed and giving him the energy to continue the fight.

Content that the knight was healthy enough, Roy stepped forward towards the front line, to get a better look at the number of Balaur. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a lone sorcerer walking towards the gate, trailing behind a group of running knights in plate armor. Roy jogged down towards the tired sorcerer and when he was about halfway there, he started chanting. He stopped a few yards away from the sorcerer and finished the incantation, the same light from before moved away from his hand in strings and circled the sorcerers body, revitalizing his energy. "We could use your hand up here," Roy stated calmly as if they were talking about the weather.

IC: Knite

Things were beginning to look up. With enough pressure on the back of the group, the Knights inside the fortress had begun to repel the invaders trying to force their way in. In the distance, another man in robes had joined the fray outside the walls. He wore robes, but their markings led Knite to believe he was among the Clerics of Elysea, though most wore chainmail to battle. He saw orbs of white light cast forth from the Cleric's hand and envelop the other stranger who had appeared minutes before.

Enough distractions. He had his people to protect. His feet slammed fast against the clay and rock that made up the ground and he pushed his heart to its peak. With a strong push, he left the ground, his next step finding a Balaur's knee. He pushed off again throwing his weight into another's shield and pushing off, then a shoulder of another further forward and cleaving it in the back of the head before leaping into the air and spreading his wings. Immediately they snapped outward drifting him into a fast glide over the head of the front ranks of the Balaur and then onto his knees, sliding to a stop as his body turned.

Running again with all he could, he jumped into the Balaur furthest in the doorway and threw his shield up, slamming into it with all his weight, sending the large creature sprawling backwards, knocking down a few of its allies. His shield gave a beautiful clang as he beat his hilt against it and readied himself for the front lines.

IC:Zecks

As Zecks closed in on the gate along with the charging Knights a Blue haired man in what seemed to be a Cleric's outfit came jogging towards him. Stopping a few yards away the Cleric started chanting a spell. As the Knights did not attack him Zecks presumed that he was one of the Knights cleric, although his build made him look more like a formidable warrior along with that large mace of his then a Cleric. As those thoughts went through Zecks mind he was suddenly covered in strings of light. In moments the strings became one with Zecks, revitalizing his energy and stamina.

Zecks took a moment in examining himself. Breathing deeply and out without problems, doing small exercises to feel that there was no stress in the body.
Then as he finished that, he channeled energy into the palm of his hand in a shape of a orb to see if there was any disturbance in his magic. The orb's shape and flow was as stable as it was before stepping into the portal.

"We could use your hand up here" The man said with a calm voice.

With a small smile and a nod Zecks followed the Cleric towards the battlefront, revitalized and ready for action, chanting a spell with ease.

while gazing towards the gate he noticed a Knight charging in on the front assault group. His moves and skills were unlike anything Zecks had seen as the Knight took out one Balaur after another. "The unfamiliar Knight from before" zecks thought "guess the tides just turned for the better"
at that moment Zecks released his spell, sending a small wave of magic missiles towards the Balaurs.

IC: Gahr
Just outside the fortress gate

I large group of Balaur had formed a bottleneck at the entrance to the fortress. Still dozens more were trying to get into the place Gahr had called sanctuary just that morning.

Gahr had positioned himself behind a large boulder that was a mere 30 yards away from the gate with Valk the great Earth elemental at his side. To the unintelligent and bloodcrazed Balaur Valk looked nothing more than an ancient oak tree that was missing most of it's leaves. Gahr knew he would have to stop these balaur from getting in if his fellow knights were to mount a successful counterattack. At the very least he might be able to by some time for them.

Gahr gave a knowing look to the great spirit and whispered a short phrase under his breath. Valk reared back and threw his arms in the air with clenched fists. He let out a fiercefull roar that seemed like it could be heard for miles. The Balaur clammoring at the gate stopped and stared wide eyed at the great tree. Valk charged moving at a surprising speed for a creature its size. He came upon a group of three balaur still frozen in utter confusion. With a wide backhand Valk struck all three balaur so hard they flew ten feet into the brick wall of the outer fortress.

At this point the Balaur outside the gate turned angrily towards their new foe. A group charged and their metal axes and maces clanged against Valk's stone-like bark. Valk swiped angrilly at the now dozen or so Balaur that had him surrounded. At one point Valk even picked up one of the Balaur and began beating the other balaur with him.

Gahr crouched low behind the boulder and a familiar light flashed from his back. He spread his wings the flew up 100 feet directly above Valk and in the blindspot of the sun. Gahr clasped his hands together and then raised then high above his head. He began to chant and soon you could see his breath as he spoke. The area just in front of the gate seemed to get darker as if under a cloud. Soon bits of snow and frost were forming in the area. Within only a few seconds the entire area in front of the gate had gone from prefect weather to full on hail. The chunks of ice falling out of the sky were as big as your hand and the shape of daggers. Balaur in the area began desperately trying to get out of the mini ice storm.

Gahr remained hovering in the air with his arms streatched skyward repeating the same chant over and over. Frost was now growing on his lips and chin but still he remained steadfast. "As long as I can keep the Ice storm going," gahr thought to himself, "then these Balaur can't get into the fortress. I've just got to hold out long enough for the Divine Order to push back."

Harry: "Maybe you should get in touch with him.. I've got 5 bucks that says you can still get him."
Perry: "Really? That's funny. I've got a 10 that says "pass the pepper." I've got two quarters harmonizing on "Moonlight in Vermont."
Harry: "What?"
Perry: "Talking money..."
Harry: "A talking monkey?"
Perry: "Talking monkey, yeah. Came here from the future. Ugly sucker. Only says, "Ficus."

IC: Roy
Outside the fortress gate

Roy ran the rest of the way back up to the gate after his brief chat with the sorcerer. He knew the front lines were no place to him, so immediately white wings burst into existence with a bright light on his back, and he flew over the wall, landing behind the small group of knights holding off the Balaur from entering the inner courtyard. "Amazing. That knight just ran through the Balaur like they're nothing." Tossing away his distraction, Roy focused on healing a few of the knights on the front line.

Then an idea struck him. "Knights, do not look back," and suddenly he started chanting. A white orb flickered to life in his palm, growing larger until it was about the size of a basketball. While Roy continued to chant, the orb floated up and moved over, above and behind the knights. Then it let out a loud whistle, too high in pitch for the Daeva to hear it, but just within the spectrum for the Balaur. They looked up for just a brief moment before the orb exploded into a bright, engulfing light.

All the Balaur that weren't smart enough to look away dropped their weapons and covered their eyes, but it was too late. The damage has been dealt. Those that hadn't looked away were blinded by the light and doubled over in pain. The others were disoriented only for a moment. Hopefully this would be the break the knights needed.

IC: Knite

A torrent of snow and ice raged just outside the gate as a blinding light emitted from behind the defenders. While the plan had mostly worked and many of the Balaur were clenching their eyes in pain, the one unfortunate factor that hadn't been considered was the crystalline and reflective surface of the ice and particles from Gahr's storm. A Templar to Knite's left threw his arm over his eyes and stumbled backwards having caught a sharp reflection and Knite had to squint and hide his eyes to avoid the collateral damage himself.

A Balaur who had somehow escaped the initial burst took advantage of this flinch and a rusty sword found its way through the plates that covered Knite's sword arm joint and pushed through until it scraped the plates on the other side. Knite recoiled with clenched teeth, pulling his shield to the right to push the blade as he pulled his body away and struggled to keep his shield in front of him to deflect more incoming blows as his sword began to get heavier and heavier.

IC: Roy

Roy caught his mistake only after it was too late. He had made a stupid mistake. It only takes one mistake to get a comrade killed and Roy would be lucky if none of them died here. He knew he had to fix this mistake, or at least try. Pulling his mace out of the loop on his belt, Roy hefted it over his shoulder and charged around the group of knights. He swung the mace over his head at the first Balaur he saw. The attack caught the warrior by surprise and crashed down on his shoulder, crushing bone.

He spun away behind a couple of knights. He could fight when he needed to, but he wasn't a gladiator, he couldn't hold off three and four Balaur. Roy waited for a second for his adrenaline rush to slow before stepping out and watching one of the more fierce knights get slashed, right in his sword arm. Roy immediately started chanting, hoping to heal the wound before he lost too much blood. Though it would take a higher level cleric to completely heal the wound, Roy could at least lessen the pain and give the brave fighter use of his sword arm back.

The spell lights flickered to life in his hand and shot out towards the knight. Unlike the others, the lights focused on the wound in his arm. The lights circled it for a moment before they tightened fading into his arm one at a time until there were none left. The wound isn't fully healed, but it should hold out until a higher level cleric can tend to it. While he was chanting, the same Balaur he struck dashed around the knights. When he spotted Roy, he let out a blood-curdling cry of anger and rage before charging at Roy head on. Roy could barely get his mace up to block the first strike.

IC: Gahr
Hovering outside the front gate

Gahr could already feel the strain from the ice spell pulling at his very soul. He felt more and more fatigued the longer it went on. Gahr focused on the spot just in front of the gate never flinching.

Suddenly and without warning a great flash reflected off of the ice shards burning Gahr's eyes. Gahr instinctively looked away and the Ice storm that had held the Balaur back immediately began to dissipate. He let out a loud grunt in anguish as he rubbed his eyes. Gahr opened his eyes and saw nothing, just a giant white spot with fuzzy outlines of a horizon in his peripherals.

Valk the great tree spirit sensed his masters misfortune and let out a defening roar. The ground around Valk was littered with the bodies of at least 8 Balaur, and ten more were still hacking away at his battle scarred trunk.

Gahr whispered a few words under his breath while still rubbing at his eyes. Valk began lurching forward, trampling two balaur that were in his path. Still swinging wildly Valk made his way over the opened gate and planted himself in front of it, effectively blocking the entrance.

The infurriated Balaur began slashing away at Valk more feverish than ever.
