Your ad system is really slowing the site down at times. Sometimes there is a 15 second wait for the ads to load.

I'm using a mixture of google Chrome and IE 8, never have anything even close to a 15 second load time. May i ask what is your internet speed?

Eh I don't think its net speed. With Chrome and ads showing the site takes up to 6s sometimes to load.
With FF and Adblock it pops up instantly with no stalling on the blank blue screen for the ad to pop up.

Its not the end of the world or anything and if it was I'd just switch back to FF but I don't mind supporting the site :P

If you're running noscript it seems that the site is being slowed down tremendously because aionsource.com isn't handling everything anymore. I'm noticing that some content wont load if I don't allow SmartAdServer.co to run its scripts. I think this is part of the problem.

I too am having horrible load times. Where the forum section is, everything is black.

akami.smartadserver.com
cocotiers.aionsource.com

Those are your two lag time culprits. Those domains take the longest to load whatever they are trying to do.

That's probably it, but it's not ads or my computer. I have a great internet connection and my computer is even better. I'm having trouble loading a lot of pages that work occasionally. I can get anywhere from a 15 second to never loading delay right now.

I suggest getting Firefox and downloading the Adblock Plus addon.

No more adds anywhere.
Ever.
Meh.

While I concur your solution was effective, advising everyone to block a source of revenue stream for Aionsource may not be the best solution for Aionsource ;)

They are at the top of the threads. akami.smartadserver.com was my culprit.

EDIT: cocotiers.aionsource.com seems to still have some impact on various forums.

EDIT 2: Upon further inspection:

akami.smartadserver.com is the ad server causing latency
cocotiers.aionsoure.com is the cause of the black screen lag.

This is just from my own troubleshooting

I blocked cocotiers, I'm perfectly fine now, better than before even. Sorry for the loss of revenue.

Its the site that provides the ads for the server or somesuch. There was a problem with it not too long ago where the delay on each page load was ridiculously long so they took the ads down for a short time until it was fixed. After taking the ads off, the delay was gone all together. Now they are back and the delay isn't as long but its noticeable.

Hence why nobody believes its their connection. 'Cause its not :D

When you load a page of refresh a page if you pay attention to the websites being pinged in your status bar it lists up when the web page is trying to communicate with those sites. The most common one that delays could be the source of latency.

The hang up happened for a majority of people posting here with the two I happened to catch while refreshing the page.

The "ad" one was specific to the ads at the top of the page. I'm not sure what cocotiers are specific too (except when someone steals my coco puffs).

The major underlying point for Caplocks response to you is when people state that have a common issue, it's not really prudent to pop in here and say "Life is grand for me" then reply again "Hey, life is good for me" or maybe "Cool story bro, life is good for me".

Or when people say they fixed it post something like "Pay attention to me what did you do to fix a problem I didn't have."

Do you see advertisements at the top of each page?
If not then you must have something blocking them which would be why you load the page quickly.
Otherwise I don't know, you're just cool like that.
