Slight update on game options especially with the new changes, I can't even put in a full hour into the game yet due to other commitments, but should be finally free to test everything tomorrow.

Awesome! Really glad to see someone putting some of these ideas down in words, never thought about doing that!

Quite some updates, not only the names of skills had been changed in the open beta, there is also a difference as to how the skills can be used while kiting.

More to follow tomorrow.

Short AAW video added. Frap finally worked.

Great guide for those of us who are not new to the class, or kiting, but are new to Aion. Thanks friend.

And to this dude....

Nice guide, but I must say it may have been better for the ranger community to figure this out on their own? This is to separate the best and brightest from the dunces during retail! I actually had figured all of this our on my own during closed beta, even the jumpshot, of which I was unaware until I read some of Elliot's posts at AbyssAddict. Again, nice guide but I do feel a little robbed that people can just gawk at the info without any thinking! I'm sure some of us can relate (right?) hahaha.

Um... you figured it out on your own by reading someone else's post about it? And you have a problem with people sharing info..... wtffail.

Thanks for the guide. I am still trying to decide what class to play but I had settled on the Ranger. My only concern now is that most of the time (to get the most dps) I have to be running away from my target and not being able to see it, this kind of ruins the immersion for me, id like to be facing my foe to enjoy the game...any thoughts?

Meh.. you guys make it sound too hard, you can kite in a tight location by simply going back and forth and when you cross the mob use Focused Evasion skill, this is how I kite while watching tv and farming lvl50 elite balaur, works vs anything else melee.

Can also throw in a sleep once in a while to prep some traps if you like.

LOL I do the same :D With Aion though I'm loving the fact that you can use your bow hit change weapons/ focus evade hit them in the back run switch back to bow without even getting hit. Makes it nice for those tight areas.

Great guide! Looks like you got all the info there. It really bugs me when I see Rangers kiting while moving backward...Read up noobie Rangers, this guy gets it.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Really appreciate them.

Btw, I made another guide that features AAW and Jump Shot, this time for Templars though, but it's rather different from what we have here and you might find it interesting.

Link is in my sig.

Cheers!

More interesting stuff.

I only just realised it's fairly easy to do AAW with macros, and have written about how to do so in my Templar guide.
I would do the same for this FAQ (would be better since Rangers are ranged I bet), but will only have access to a Ranger to test it all out on Friday (friend's account and low level to boot!).

If anyone would do the testing before then, I'll include it in the guide.
Else, see you guys Friday night~

Thanks for the well written guide
Trolling was invented by Socrates and called Socratic Irony. It was performed IRL. Unfortunately, primitive people found irony confusing and scary, so they forced him to drink hemlock and die.
