Why isn't there a profession as Mercenary...you know, you get hired by newbs to do fights for them, and they pay you...I did that a couple of times in my most desperate days in FFXI >.>

Um all the crafts will make a great deal of money if you manage to get it capped. Don't expect it to be easy. I'll be going Armorcraft of course to make myself armor.

Chose Alchemy - I'm the (imho^^) born Supporter, so i like to enhance my party/guild members. Hope, there'll be also recipes for poisons and stuff like that. :D

What I want to know is how many can you have? Also I am going Armor crafting or tailoring, if I can only pick one, but if I can pick two, I'd pick Tailoring, and crafting maybe, kinda cause I am going to be a Spiritmaster, or a Sorceror. Also they don't have enchanting in game???

If I can take gathering professions only I will do that and sell all my materials to the Auction House. Unless my guild is in need of some specific materials.

I really want to get into tailoring cause I'm gonna be some kind of mage (that and I just love the way some of those robe designs look) and what with skins being able to be combined with other pieces of armor people will want crafters who can make armor that has a certain skin so they can combine it with their new armor.

Can anyone explain what the Profession "Crafting" is? It's kind of general..wondering what items you can make..Accessories?

I'd assume Crafting is the woodworking (To make arrows, bows, and staves) since it seems to the the only profession not mentioned.

I'm going tailoring, since I need to make Kattrina her purdy robes.

Like in FFXI, I think the BIG and CONSISTENT money will be in Woodworking/Textiles. I think thats what the "Crafting" poll option is for. Everyone will need something made out of wood, be it furniture, staves(lolHQStaffUndercutGO!), wands, shields, bows, etc.
