I have this habit of moving only with mouse, by holding both buttons to forward, so no turn or strafe keys for me. Then i bind skills on RTZEUIDFGHJKCVBNM456789 SPACE. So i have like tons of keys for abillities. It worked like a charm on any MMO so far (wow, aoc, war, gw....). Do you think this will work out in aion too? Can you fly by holding the both mouse keys to forward and glide with mouse?
How do you have keys set up?
The problem with wasd and qe to strafe i think is that takes to much buttons. Why bind movement when you can move with mouse? And to go back, its actually faster and easier to just quickly turn mouse for 180.

your method will have its advantages but for me, being able to move my character and having camera movement independant of each other is a must in PVP. It is also going to be very important to be able to strafe imho.

I am left handed, though so i use the numberpad on the right of the keyboard for my key bindings. I am typically limited to 18 keys plus my mouse buttons. I also use the mouse 3 button to be able to ascend with my wings out. This has worked fine for me in the past and I am sure it onw't be a problem this time, especially as some chain skills take up the pre-requisite spot on the hotbar.:study:

I usually use 1 2 3 Q R E F T G X C SHIFT-Q SHIFT-E SHIFT-F etc I also tend to click skills with longer cooldowns not a big deal really... Just use what you feel is good for yourself :sparkles:

In wow my main class is druid, so F-keys where very useful when shiftshaping. Also, for spells with long casting times i often tend to have the difficult keys, like Shift-G or Shift-T.. Those spells often have a high burst output, so the difficult key combinations kind of feel natural.

f1-5 are always kept for group targeting.

I do bind other keys, but they're for occasional use keys.

I bind my keys with superglue.

Moving backwards while facing away from your enemy is a bad idea.
