[Zyuu]

Today I present you all with a video I made playing in the Korean Closed Beta 2. I'm playing a Cleric and the video is 13min long showcasing me creating my character and leveling from 1 to 4. Furthermore you can see me selling a couple of the items I looted and I take a griffon flying over the landscape (great view!). Please read the description of the video for further information.

There's also 71 screenshots available for your viewing pleasure from my short adventure thus far. They were taken at maximum settings and with 1680x1050 resolution.

Finally (but not least) Irisviel and Shilenne have provided us with even more screenshots from their adventures playing an assassin and a sorcerer. They run the game at medium to low graphic settings.

Disclaimer: The video and screenshots below are from the Closed Beta 2. Aion is subject to change as the beta progresses and Aion evolves. Also, the low fps in the video is due to me running the game at max beta settings with a GF 7900 GTX.

Nothing new about my screenshots, just some environment stuff + wings for people who likes Elyos wings. Also... unlike WoW or most of other mmorpgs, if you wear a necklace it shows on your char visually. Notice the green glowy object on my char's neck on 3rd screenshot of 1st page.

Haven't seen screens yet, but video is cool :D Seems like you have loads of mana on lvl1, but regeneration is so lol slow. I hope there is some water to increase mana regen while seated, otherwise I'll cry :[.

AA appears to be disabled in those screenshots and the jpeg compression probably decreases the overall sharpness. As Netcurse said, they don't quite reflect what's actually in-game if you crank your settings up. :)

he has no AA on, if you have a decent video card you can put that on in the nvidia options if its not in the game itself.
You can also up the settings by editing the cfg file.

It will still look better irl for me.

a Few questions from yours truly :


From watching the video I have the distinct impression the game - in terms of combat mechanics and actual gameplay mechanics - is pretty much done ( except minor tweaks ) , can you confirm this from playing it ?

I was noticing red boxes popping up during combat ,what are those ( my knowledge of korean isn't that good , absent actually ) ?

What was the emote which had you floating ?

How much time did it take to get from lvl 1-4, how many "zones " does that take you to ?


As for quality of graphics : it looks stunning - especially considering settings and the loss of quality you always get when capturing ingame screenshots ,let alone videos .Besides : I'm more interested in gameplay. You can have marvelous graphics in a lousy game, we don't want that .

I remember that one of the developers said time ago that the game is not yet optimized (they had to tweak LOD settings and such).
I wonder if that work is already done. If it's not, then we can expect more fps (or more eye candy) with less expensive hardware.

I have a question for Zyuu: ¿if you play FarCry with max settings with that card, do you get the same fps, less, more? ¿Do you see the hard drive constantly loading stuff? ¿Can you run a benchmarking program and post your results here? That would help us to compare our machines and get an idea of the required hardware.
