I understand your point BUT No they don't have to modify their game to cater to us. This game is advertised as a PvPvE game so they aren't going to change that. This is a game about conflict and an ongoing war so your going to get the occasional ganking. NCSoft isn't going to change much more about this game so complaining about it won't change anything. My advice to you would be to find a more PvE friendly game or don't play during prime time hours to limit the ganking, maybe you mis-read the information about Aion but this game is PvP heavy and it's something you'll have to learn to deal with or Roll a toon on the Nezekan server that apparently is where all the RP'ers are going so you'll find peace there.

Just a minor niggle, but Nezekan is the Oceanic server, not the RP server. Another point, a RP in Aion would not balk at PvP if he was truly roleplaying, he would be a bloodthirsty murderous killer hell bent on the destruction of his enemy because he has written himself a rather long an convoluted backstory of how his parents, grandparent, aunties, uncles and even his little dog spot was brutally tortured before his very eyes, and he must have vengeance, and would remain in character for his duration of being logged in. In fact, a RP server would more than likely have MORE gankings of low level players due to the bloodthirsty backstories involved, any red should be dead. (Mind you, im not a roleplayer, so perhaps they would have some honor code developed, but I highly doubt giving concessions to the enemy be an idea supported by Roleplayers, could be wrong though)

Well that would rather depend on the backstory they come up with; if every single RPer were the same I imagine RP would be rather boring.

However, the unofficial RP server is Lumiel. Although you're not likely to get ganked less there (I leveled in WoW on a RP-PvP server and learned just how fast a rogue can gank a priest), you may find a slightly more mature community due to certain immature players not wanting the stigma of playing on a RP server attached to them.

I hope you are right... while I hate to get ganked, getting Ganked by crotchity old farts like myself who yell things like "Forsooth" and "Take that you Knave" will at least have some comic relief. (I know, I will not be able to read the text, but it makes me feel better)

Although I do agree with you on people ganking someone lower lvl and/or 20 of em, what makes the game fun to me is how nervous I get when I am out there grinding and being in danger. We all get frustrated when a grp of 5 people 5 lvls higher than us gank us. But we'll get em back ;)

I have 2 issues with the complaining about "ganking":

1) It's a PvPvE game, not a game that's 50% PVP and 50% PVE. There's a reason they integrated the terms together, and that is that players are meant to do both simultaneously. While I can appreciate wanting to PVE without threat of getting obliterated by roaming gangs every now and then, the core game concept is mixing the two styles together. That's the "catch" that they're probably hoping will attract players from WoW. If pure PVE is what you want, this isn't what Aion is providing. There are literally dozens or hundreds of games that do cater to this, including lots of non-MMOs.

2) I suspect that those who are complaining about the ganking haven't experienced the coordinated anti-ganking measures that will inevitably sprout up. I started as a PVE-only player in WoW, but after giving it a try I loved WAR's forced faction interaction. Ganking was actually pretty infrequent, but the dis-organized battles that sprang up around the border areas were lots of fun. I think the fear of mass ganking is over-blown, and the joy of organizing a strong defense to drive the gankers out isn't being emphasized enough. Please give it a try (dropping your PVE routine to help with the defenses)...you might actually like it.

This pretty much summed up what i was going to say. I would also like to add the fact that it is part of the game. Quick real life analogy. Two countries are at war with each other, with everlasting hatred between the two. A member of one of the faction's crosses into enemy territory. A member of the opposing side sees him and recognizes him as the enemy.

Realistically does he:
A) Give a quick wave and a smile
B) Realize, "Oh man he isnt flagged for PvP!"
C)Take offensive action and kill/capture him

I will let you make the obvious choice...

That nervousness is just like the adrenaline rush and that's what makes it so awesome.
Those random spur-of-the-moment epic world group-pvp wars in other MMO's were what you live for!
The unexpectedness and adrenaline make the game that much more exciting, but it happened
so rarely in other games I played.

If it's the everyday thing here in Aion, this games going far.
I don't think it's something I'd get bored of too fast, unless I'm constantly on the losing side =\

On another note,

People who QQ about being ganked (unless its by someone multiples of levels higher than you) in
such a PVP-orientated game just ruin my day. You play a game that allows it, so expect it.

Works both ways. PvP players need to grind pve for months in order to get their character pvp ready - its just as frustrating for us.
