Didn't seem to make any difference, I'll still mess around with it some more though.

Helped me too, a friend showed this to me awhile back. Took my ping from 300 down to around 50. I was greatly impressed with it being as I didn't expect it to help at all.

While the regfix definitely improves things you may find a proxy gets you an even lower ping. Check out a free pingboss.com trial account if you want to test the difference.

It doesn't because it doesn't modify the game client. It just changes your PC more or less. :P

This fix doesn't work for me though, unless instead of 200-2K ms range, its supposed to stay at 1K-1.5K.

:sigh:

Is this like Lowerping such as it uses a proxy server? In that case I read it violates the TOU?
I wonder how you can walk at the speed of light,
I try to find you in seven skies.
I wonder how I could fall by your side,
I try to find you in seven skies.

I used this a while back, and although it reduces my ping from 250ish down to a steady 60, it also seems to 'flood' my connection.

I will have a steady ping of 60, but will randomly get disconnected. When the game finally kicks me out I can't view certain websites either, but others websites work without any problem, so it's not like the internet connection has gone completely.

I have since changed the registry settings back to their original.

Running Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate behind a router.

Doesn't do anything for my ping during primetime that will shoot from 100 to 500 and freeze the action for a couple seconds. Neither does Gamepath. I've never had a problem with my ping in 10 years of playing online games. This is getting aggrivating

if it dosen't help you, then could you post what Os you are using.
as stated in earlyer post's this fix does not work for Vista without hotfix, or Service Pack 1. ^^

I've always been very skeptical about MTU/TCP tweaks for gaming. 99% of "gaming internet tweaks" are junk and don't do anything. A friend of mine gave this a shot and said it worked wonders for him. So I gave it a whirl.

IT WORKS LIKE A CHAMP!

I took an average of 200-350 ping in game before applying the patch.

I can't ping higher than 113 after applying the patch. 66 being average now.

All in game actions are much MUCH more responsive, healing is 100x easier, and gameplay just "feels" a lot more fluid. Don't knock it till you try it. Thanks for this! It's a whole new game now.

System-----

Dell XPS M1730 Laptop 2.5Ghz Dual Core, 2x 8700 SLI. Single 10/100/1000 integrated Broadcom NIC. running WinXP SP3 / TinyXP - Rev09.

And yes, I'm behind a router, and it works so ignore these bs posts about not working from behind a router. Like I said, I'm a skeptic, but the proof is in the pudding.

Hey Librarian. I know this sucks and trust me it does even for me. Best choice for people like us is to use proxy. I'm actually using a proxyserver offered by SMOOTHPING.COM
I was quite skeptical but after installing it, works quite well.. my old 700-900ms has dropped to no higher than 300ms.
Yeah you gotta pay for the proxycap thing but you got to pay the proxycap thing. One off cost but given that it dropped mine just like that, the price is more than worth it. Oh smoothping don't charge anything for use of their proxyservers for playing AION.
Good deal IMHO.
Just thought I'd let those who run into the same problems I do know.
Oh,btw, this 300ms thing.. I get this even when I'm downloading stuff with torrents.

The issue for me is Aion is the only game I've had lag me this badly. I'm used to 200 MS - 300 MS. I can still heal through that sucker really well; however, I've -never- experienced 1K-3K MS lag in any game EVER. My torrents still move quickly, youtube even loads quickly, but Aion every now and then gets sluggish and I don't know how to handle it.
