Well since we don't have one yet that is official and dedicated to AionSource.com I donated my 400 slot server on GameComm to AionSource.com and Mark and myself have been working on it for the past few weeks.

We wanted to let you all hear our sexy voices so come on in and lets get the voice discussions going.

GameComm is a program like Ventrillo or Teamspeak but much more enhanced with added features for both the user and the administration.

It has better sound quality and management features then Teamspeak and has the exact same sound quality as Vent but many more features.

Gamecomm integrates 3 applications into one: MSN, forums, and a voice chat server.

The server address is "AionSource.com".

The Guide by Tez

You do need to download the latest Net Frame Works 3.5 from Microsoft if you don’t have it yet so please click the link below and download it.
Download details: .NET Framework 3.5

once done please do as these I have listed below
1. Download the client
2. Register a user name and password
3. Hit the register button



Once you have the program installed click the icon for GameComm and open it to see the login and server input area
1. Put your user name in the right place
2. Put your password in the right place
3. Uncheck the box for "connect to network only"
4. Put the desired server your going to be in


Now your in the server of your choice so you need to set up your settings as you would for the 1st time by going into TOOLS > PREFERANCES > and we will do AUDIO 1st
1. Uncheck voice activation box
2. Check push to talk
3. Make sure your audio drivers are set to your head set


Lets now move on to the event sounds by going into TOOLS > PREFERANCES > and this time go into EVENTS
1. Uncheck "begin speaking" & "stop speaking"
2. Check what sounds you want to play and not play in this area


Well there you have the basics of making your GameComm experience simple and easy to what most of you are accustomed to in vent or team speak. There is a lot more you can mess around with while you’re in there as a user so please have fun testing things out such as your profile or other settings.

I will add a detailed tutorial for admins and mods later because it is very different from vent or team speak but much more powerful and useful in the long run as to the extent of what a admin can do in GameComm.

Because he got this server for 100% free for doing some heavy Beta Testing on it. If it's the same quality as Ventrilo, with MORE options and 100% free (for a 400 man server) why would he want to pay for a Ventrilo server that's WAY smaller?

I'm just asking because it seems quite annoying to set up. I may just be used to Ventrilo. But if the quality is the same, or better, than ok!

1st. yes I like vent as well but it doesnt have all the extras as gc does nor do i own a 400 slot server for life for free

2nd. everyone who has ever dl vent has to set it up same as they do gc so whats the diff

3rd. you dont have to set up all the extras as i said...just your push to talk is enough...i gave you guys a few extra things to get rid of cause to me there annoying.

if anyone wants channels set up for the games there playing just pm me

PS. sorry i dont have a mic at work but if you need help with gc just instant message me on gc by double clicking my name and opening up a pm window

In order to get a free server you dont necisarally have to do heavy beta testing, I got a server by just answering a few questions (server name, my email, and how many slots i needed) and being nice to the dev.

PS - I fully agree Gamecomm > Vent

your server is not free...its free until release...then you will either have to pay or it will be shut down and your server is not 400 slots

my server is free for life and its 400 slots

GC > Vent in every aspect but "common communications" and by that i mean what is the "norm" thus far xD

Main reason I prefer Ventrilo is because it's what I'm used to :p It's a lot more simple, and does the job. Less of a resource-hog, and is obviously a lot more compatible with things. Ventrilo gets the job done basically, it does everything I need it to do. I don't really care about GameComm's extra features.

So yeah, I guess I'm just being stubborn :p

ur 1st reason sums it all up xD....yes it does take up a bit more resources like 20kbs more...you think thats going to crash anyones pc? no it wont and it does alot more if you want it to but is just as simple as vent.....i log in vent i set up my preferances for sound and push to talk done...i log into gc i set up my audio for push to talk done....so really there is nothing more complicated about gc over vent.

and at some point gc will be the norm

Also, no Mac / Linux Client? No way I'm going to use this. Even Ventrilo has a somewhat good Mac Client.

they have a mac client but who uses a mac to play mmo's 0_o ...most game makers never put out a mac version of there game lol
