shot in teh dark here, reset your monitor's settings through it's control panel(on the monitor itself) and reboot. then let windows detect it and make sure that they are all default through windows control panel.

Hmm, whats your video card and could you give me your monitor model? With those i can tell what frequency should work. It also could be a problem with your video card but i doubt it.

My Asus desktop came with a pretty puny video card built into the motherboard so I added my old Radeon x1950 Pro. It's not great, but it runs every other game just fine.

Well that's quite outdated. Your computer just simply cannot handle Aion. I would maybe go buy a 9500gt just to run the game. But first give me your monitor specs.

depending on the age of your asus desktop, the IGP may be more powerful than the x1950

Hi guys, this is my first post on this forum and I am not proud of that but this is
major problem i have. I an advance sorry for maybe longer post.

I start playing Aion from first day of their release, and dint have any problems,
till patch 2.0 come out. After i start NcSoft Launcher it upload last patch, and
game start normally. After a couple of days after starting launcher next massage pop up,

Unable to Contact Launcher Update Server

There is either a problem with your internet connection, or the update server is currently down.
You may retry or skip the update.

After skipping and launching Aion next message pop up:

Unable to contact game patch server.
Please check your internet connection or try again later.
If you want to skip the update step, force a launch using the right-click menu on the game list or main button.

Error Code: 36 (PatchServerCommunicationError):
Patch server communication error while performing operation:
Getting Current Version

It work like this for 2-3 days and playing game was possible, but after that last 2 days
when i log in (nothing changed in meantime with logging) i can't activate my skills and buffs
from bar or skills list. All i can do is drink some potions, use scrolls and food and auto attack.

If anyone can help would be nice.

well i did not try, i found my problem under #7 fqa, but I am not
sure which file i need to change, so if you can be so kindly to
tell me more specific which file I should repair?

Hmm, the hosts file is actually gone. Odd.

Give this a try:
Copy this code and go to this file path: C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion

Then open up the file addcache in notepad. Then paste what you copied into there. Then try.

I can accept this force launch and skip update for launcher, but i can not accept
problems with skills and buffs, because i pay for game and can not play for 4 days now.

people have same problems like me. Look @ Ayase reply then release patch 2.0.0.3, but i have problem
coz i have error 36 i cant update this patch, so i try your fqa under # but cant get what i should past in browser
line, i have 2.0.0.2 patch last.

If you can help me to make right address for manual upload, to try resolve problems with skills and buffs, at least.

I have the same problem as this person. I was actually on Aion pretty much all day, got d/ced cuz I wandered off to do something came back and tried to log back in and now I can't.


EDIT: Did about four repairs and magically it works again. Guess it was a server hiccup or something.

so i got aion yesterday and ofcourse alot ALOT of patching involved...

so now finaly i'm at the 2.6 patch.. but it wont install... i dont realy get an error code.. but when the instal is at 70% it stops and says "cannot create a file that already exists" and then it tells me to repair,

but repairing isnt realy helping though tried that numerous times... i also viewed the log file but i dont understand all that jibber jabber so anyone a good idea ?

After you get the download.

Delete Bin32 folder in your Aion directory (located in c: program files/ncsoft/aion)

Then open the launcher back up and repair aion.

I normally just try this with any Aion related install and it works. Be sure ot check the FAQ list for manual patching if it doesnt work. User Beware, this has not been updated since 2.0.

Anyone know if there is an IP range ban in affect for South Korea on the NA servers? I haven't logged in since April and I have moved to Korea since then. I just resubbed and I cannot connect to the server. I can successfully put in my username and password and accept the EULA, but then I get the "Cannot connect to server" message and the client closes.

I've updated the client to 2.6.0.4 so that isn't the issue. I'm starting to think it's my location.

Some of the suggestions here don't make sense. I played the game for two hours and it ran perfectly fine. Suddenly I was disconnected and now every time I run it it says "program needs to close". I tried erasing "bin32" and it DOESN'T work! Is there any other solution?
