I just received an e-mail from Ayase concerning the official Aion forums:

Also, please remember to be respectful to the NC staff that post here. They are our guest and are using our forums to communicate with you as best they can.

This really does sound like a huge excuse for not having the time to be present at the official forums. I don't believe for a second that a professional software company cannot get a forum administrator account to work properly.

I agree, but go check out there forums holy god are they slow, buggy, and just plane crappy for the past 2 days. They work 10% of the time.

I agree...I'm not buying it either.

There must be another reason behind it which they want to keep away from the public.

Maybe they are in a feud with NCSoft Korea and are therefore not even allowed to use their own forums?

EDIT: Maybe they removed GG without permission and the koreans are now screaming profanities over the phone and spamming them with emails + disabling their admin accounts. :)

What about for people who refuse to Tweet or whatever, is there a way to just see the tweets without signing up for a useless Twitter account?

You don't need to sign up to view the updates. I don't have a Twitter account, and I see them fine.

Forums need a lot more than just admin posts. They're pretty badly put together.

while where talking about those forums.... i cant login with my master account..so i crreated a new 1 for the forums and it refuses again :( any else with the problem? or maybe a fix?

The offical forums made me throw up. I mean, I thought the WoW forums design was about as bad as it was possible to get.

Then I saw that the aion forum peeps took the WoW forum design, copied it as much as possible, and what they couldnt copy then they kept trying to outdo eachother in making it as worse as possible.

My eyes do not deserve the pain and digust of looking apon the offical forums.

The official forums look like they were made from a scratch by NCsoft (unless I missed something or am not aware of something) instead of using a ready script like most of the games(Age of Conan or Warhammer, WoW's are custom made as well iirc). Looking at the amount of bugs the whole Aion portal possess I am quite sure the whole thing was rushed and so, it is very probable that such a bug exists.

The design of the forums themselves is a bit of 'meh' indeed but the whole portal itself and the amount of data it provides is really awesome.

They had the same excuse for not being able to post on the beta forums... I guess some problems will never be fixed when they come in handy :grin:

I don;t understand why they didn't stick with a more common forum design, this one I haven't bothered with after the first look, lol. Otherwise amazing amount of information presented very well, thats pretty cool.

They really should just make Aionsource.com the "OFFICIAL" forum for them, as it's WAY WAY WAY better than the official forums. I haven't been on the "official" forums since last closed beta...

I have to say that for a game as advanced and awesome as Aion, there really is no excuse for the horrible forums they have. As a web designer, they need to fire their current web company and get a new one that actually knows what they are doing.

The official forum system is horrible. It's like they didn't learn from the Lineage 2 forums.... They used a broken, proprietary system for years, before moving to vbulletin and making it less broken.
