On the off chance that this is not a troll...

Rangers are the archers in this game, assassins can use a bow but if you find yourself using it more than your daggers/swords..you're doing it wrong.

Just take a step back and think. What does an assassin do? Does it sneak up behind someone then shoot them in the head with a Bow? No they don't.

If you had just thought for a minute, you wouldn't have needed to ask such a lame thing.

No troll here. I read every post in this area. I've never played this game before and I am trying to learn what the different classes can do. Thanks for the info. Do assassins get less powerful bows and less powerful arrows? Thanks

Knew i was doing something wrong

Seriously though, depends what the OP means, is he talking about general bow skills? or auto attack with the bow?

The bows and arrows are items that both can use and are the same. The difference is that rangers get more skills that use the bow while assassins get more melee skills. At lower levels some rangers will use melee to finish off a mob that has gotten close but primarily they use the bow. Sins will sometimes use a bow either for pulling a mob or to finish off something that is running but primarily the use melee weapons (daggers and swords).

If you've ever played Warcraft, think of the main differences (excluding the pets) between a Rogue and a Hunter. They can both use bows / daggers & swords, but if you found a Rogue trying to DPS with a Bow, you'd ridicule him, hardcore.

Rangers get a ton of bows skills that assassins dont. Rangers do a ton of damage with a bow, assassin just shoot a bow to pull with or cause he is rooted. Assassins just do basic arrow damage not the massive crits/stun/knockbacks and other fancybow tricks that rangers do. Assassins do amazing things with daggers and swords.

most assassins will only pull out the bow when they are chasing a runner because it has a chance to stun your opponent. no bow abilities, just autoattack. it can also be semi useful if you want to get some separation from your opponent in a 1v1 while waiting for a cooldown to come back up of something.

long story short, bows are very very situational..but do definately have their use for a sin. i've saved many kills with a bow stun to catch back up to someone.

um yes they can. Don't need Stunning Shot to Stun.

I use a Bow on my Gladiator to plink away at fleeing targets... every now and then it'l crit and they'll get stunned for long enough for me to catch up, snare them and beat them to a pulp :)

glad dosen't get any more bow skills than assasin
both classes stack Crit, so chance of a Stun is pretty much equal.

so yes, they're the same.

LOLs... seriously a bow is handy for a sin... chasing when dash is on cooldown, pulling, rooted or mocking the enemy. Bows do crit and stun for a sin. Just not as much for a ranger. I use one to pull something away from a crowd and I usually get 2-3 shots in before I melee.

I wouldn't call it a necessary feature. Sure you can pull mobs with it but if you compare it to a ranger, which you do, then fgs stay off our bows! lol

Hell, I'm a glad and I even use bow to soften them up b4 I go in for the kill. Bow can be use by anyone capable of holding a branch and a twig. Assn are a close combat type and they often start from the very back of the enemy. I don't see a reason for Assn to use a bow other than pull.

madgelo you obviously have a gap in your knowledge here.

As a sin i CAN stun on a crit. I cant speakl for other classes such as glads but I know that I have a chance to stun on a crit. It's Not 100% but a small chance. Especially useful in Flight combat.

Not trying to flame. Just trying to educate.
