Those two islands have Asmo guardposts on them, apparently because Elyos owns fortress.

The ghosts and such in the abyss are fine too, before you get to the reapers.

I've also read you can grind to 26-27 in that instance... something training camp? I have yet to verify.

Lv 29 Ranger Elyos looking for a nice hardcore grind spot, come on guys.

Wasteland Drakies were great, better than drakes imo and the essence they drop sells for 50k+ at AH.

Currently at Siel's Left Wing killing the eternal soldiers, warriors, etc.

Training Camp is the Nochsana [Group] quests. There are 3 quests and you go into the Training Camp though a portal, since it's an instance, and the mobs in there -- along with bosses -- total to about 2 million experience and you should finish within an hour to 2 hours.

There is a 15 hour timer where you can't go in again so don't go in unless you're with a good group.

Also, it'd probably be helpful to have a list of non-abyss grindspots for times when it's just a bit too active out there and you've had your fill of pvp for the night.

For 4 dot level 36's, the Mine Outriders in Beluslan die amazingly easy. At 32 I can kill one in 2 cycles and get 27k exp in about 45 seconds.

Musphel Gate for solo mobs 22-25. Mindnumbing solo mobs. 6-9k exp, minor drops.

Grinding 22 - 28 (Some kiting skill required):
Taran's Cavern (from entrance, pull patrollers and guards out and kite them along the mountain), pretty fast kills and 35-40k experience and decent drops)

I got 67k from the Ice Guards and 97k from the Ice Stalkers at level 32.

240k XP for 38 4 dots. Worked out a tad slower than normals. :( Shame, as it make for a more interesting grind.

The Virago Warriors(23 and 24) are a real nice spot to grind. There is even a repeatable quest to add to the Kinah/xp.

Validating what Argonaut posted. The Miner Outriders, Lookouts, Fencers and Overseers in Beluslan are 4-5 dots, lvl 36-38. None of those 4 have range abilities and not too tough. @33 i got 1,5 mil/h there, and it's nice and pretty open so kiting is no problem.

I'm 33 1/2 and have been stuck for the last 2 days not knowing what I should be grinding on as I've done all the quests I can at my level. Gonna try the Virago camp at 33 and see how I fair.

Hey. Try the dried embers(or burnt embers or something) coin quest in the Sulfur Arp. part of the lower abyss. Theres 2 repeats there. 1 you just have to kill 25 of the embers, the other you kill 14 Treegards and 6 Dried Root Scouts. Its fairly easy, especially at your level.
I'm not positive what level I headed up to the upper abyss but theres some quests up there that you might be able to get at 29 I believe. If you do the courier quests that are given in Abyss you should be able to find all of them.

Easy! That area is all out warfare 24/7 on my server, good luck getting any PVE done :D
