Spiritmaster fear, why is this overpowered ability in the game? Rate Topic: -----

Am I correct in my belief that there is no potion to cure spiritmaster fear? small scale PvP is completely unbalanced when 1 person is unable to do anything for most or all of the fight. It's also very boring and off putting for the player. They can even kill you while it's active on you and have you dead or almost dead before you can control your character again.

This ability should be curable by a potion, or removed from the game. No player should have the power to make another player completely helpless while still being able to kill the helpless player without the effect breaking.

while i agree it needs a self-way to remove it, other classes can remove it for you.

so there is a counter.

Grouping is good for you. Clerics have the ability to remove debuffs from others. SMs have only 1 real DD spell - the rest is relied on DoT (which don't stack), Pet, and CCs. They don't have the glass cannon aspect that a Sorc has to protect their squishy cloth selves. It's a very annoying skill, yes, but Aion isn't meant to be 1v1 in the levels that matter.

Right so now you're screwed or your group is screwed without a certain class (cleric) and even then, so what if you have a cleric, the spiritmaster will just use fear on the cleric, then you're screwed anyway. So you need 2 clerics to have any of countering it.

So I guess that unless you have minimum 2 clerics with you, someone will be screwed if the opponent has a spiritmaster, which in small pvp is devistating.

SM damage also does not scale much past level 40. In return for having piss poor damage they have the ability to control a fight almost completely.

I'm not even talking about 1v1, my situation is 2v3, but this situation would also apply to 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, and 6v6 etc. Having a cleric to cure the fear will do nothing when the cleric itself is the one who is feared. Cleric can't cure while feared.

This ability is over the top. Many other games have had similar abilities with mechanics just like this one and none of them stayed that way very long. I know no SM's will agree but thats no surprise.
If anything this ability will be bad for them in the long run. People will start getting more resist gear etc and fear will be liable to fail a lot leaving the sm in a bad position in many fights. I think it would be better to change fear and give them some compensation in an other area so they wont be reliant on it.

Then while the fear is in CD, the rest of the group can beat the **** out of the SM. Problem solved.

I'd rather be able to prevent people from flying by crashing them and cutting their flight time by almost what, 70%?

Yeah but to my knowledge wing clip either has been nerfed or is slated to be nerfed, seeing as the primary reason they have it is because their pets cannot fly, which is being changed.

well that skill been nerfed so has fear with the anti-fear rings, the thing you have to QQ about is our water summons crash that force a player out of flight mode and sends them falling to there deaths


Just love how people cry about something and dont read up on classes or there skills as I stated above, SM Fear is nerf from the Fear rings (thats if you get one) and Wing Root been nerf to

Without fear SM's would be free AP for everybody. But that would be alright with you, I'm assuming.

There's a reason its the most underplayed class in the game. SM damage is poor and they have zero burst dps. But you guys dont' stop and think there might be a reason that they have some of the best control utility in the game, do you? You just cry nerf at every opportunity.

lets nerf rangers because one stunlocked me until I was dead.
lets nerf sorcs because one two shot me.
lets nerf temps because even with fear I can't kill em.
lets nerf assassins because I can't see them coming.

keep whining.

This was inevitable. They could reduce fear to a 1 second duration and a 30 minute cooldown and people would still complain because people HATE not being able to control their character. It's always the first talent people complain about in MMOs.
