What class in Aion will be the most like the GW Necromancer? I couldn't find a similar thread, and I didn't know where to put it, so I apologize.

I brought this issue up earlier, but only briefly in another thread. The only casting class I have ever really liked was the necro class. Something about the technical aspect, and the perpetual death machine you can create as you kill and reanimate enemies to kill more enemies for reanimation attracts me. If there had been a necro class, I would have taken them hands down, no questions asked.

What Karnage said. I love manipulation and such, and necromancers fit that a little. Thanks for the answer. :)

I know all the basic classes, I was just trying to see which one was closest. And I'm not just looking for minion factories. I'm looking into more manipulative classes. The ones that play with there food before they eat them. O.o

I've always liked the warlock type classes affliction is fun, they seem kinda the same necro and all but i've never played GW so i wouldn't know. The sorcerer seems like a combo of lock and mage from *gulp* WoW (i know i'm a nerd and play it... lol) you guys seem to chew people out when they make a comparison but i also don't like wow that much just something to do for now. It seems like a fun class but spirit master looks like a lock and seems fun i guess if i do like usual it won't matter i'll have like 8 toons lvling them all at once because i'm a retard XD

I think Spiritmaster, honestly.

They have pets, an AOE fear and their own set of spells besides the pet.

Im not familiar with the Mage classes in Aion, same with every other class haha, but i really hope Spiritmaster isnt like a Summoner in FFXI. Like, they are identical prolly with how they fight, but getting the avatars in FFXI was soooooo annoying, i hope you get all the basic summons at the start, and you just go from there.

@Ocilios: they seem to get their first spirit at level 10, so as soon as they specialize in Spiritmaster.

@OP: I think Spiritmaster is as close as you can get. I also enjoyed playing a Necromancer (and I still do), and I would love to play such a class in Aion, but Spiritmaster is more like a Ritualist.

Also remember that with the Stigma system you can create something akin to the necro, taking some of the poison/DoT/debuffs of other classes and incorporating it into the Spiritmaster's skill list. You'll never be able to summon 10 things at once, but it's something.

Plus, both Lineage 2 and City of Heroes (and even Guild Wars until it was abandoned for GW2) are still getting new races and new classes (one-winged thing for l2, epic Widow/Crab for CoV) so it's entirely possibly a more necro-like class will develop in the future. I know there are a few class niches that are already missing with the available line-up, such as a class closer to a Druid I would love to see happen, so maybe they'll work on these for future expansions.

Classes I'd like to see:

Druid - Morph into animals, not just one or two but lots of choices, nature spells
Necromancer - multiple minions, also some spirit magic would be nice rather than the cliche pestilence spells.
Ninja - no, Assassin isn't enough; I'm talking the teleporting, ninjutsu-using, shuriken throwers
Mesmer - just like Guild Wars, I would love a class that specializes less in direct damage and more in using another person's damage against itself, and using enchantments/buffs to harm the person they're supposed to help <3 <3 <3
Monk - I've yet to see an MMO make a decent martial arts class or perhaps cestus (fist weapons) with one exception; Ragnarok Online. Lotsa direct action without edged weapons.

Necromancer isn't all about MMing. While I agree Blood Magic is barely used (except for BiP/Orders), Curses has it's uses, and I think it's an important part of the Necromancer class. It's what I use most, and that's what I'd really like to see.

That's what I meant more than MM. I just like the definition of a Necromancer, with the whole death manipulation theme...

Yeah. Well, hopefully they will add more classes with future expansion packs or updates *crosses fingers*

I don't thing that would be that difficult, I mean, we have all the class bases, just adding idk 10 more levels and two more subdivisions for each class and you get all the classes you imagine, I mean, from SM -- Necro (Black magic/death master) and Elemental Master, from Chanter -- Monk and Shaman, etc, etc.

That could be cool. Maybe if they made one huge expansion after a year or two they could pull it off.

The only problem I could see with expanding the classes would be getting duplicate builds from supposedly different classes, ie Shaman and Element Master being so similar that it wouldn't be worth having both in one group.

How come? I didn't understand what you mean. Elemental Master'd be from SM and Shaman from Chanter, no way to be similar.
