Q: Regarding classes to be weakened (Spiritmaster, Cleric), how will the changes be made?
A: The Spiritmaster is to be strengthened after internal discussions, and after internal discussion, it was noted that the problem of casting classes having too many buttons to press will also be corrected at the same time. For the Spiritmaster, all unnecessary skills will be removed and all other skills will be wholly revamped, for the Cleric, the damage dealt will be increased slightly while the effect of buffs related to healing have been increased greatly.

Q: During PvP, if the opponent is flying, how can the Spiritmaster attack?
A: Due to the revamp of the Spiritmaster's skills, he will be given an advantage on ground-based combat and skills to pull opponents down to the ground for combat, prevent opponents from leaving the ground.

What do you think about this? I guess it's ok if you think on a good strategy, but I still wanted my pets to fly, why's that so difficult?

maybe they want to give more initiative to the player. Like, if SM had a pet that could fly they could just sick after the enemy and nuke like in WoW (not in air obviously, but the mechanic is the point), but if the pet can't follow in the air it makes the SM have to assess more carefully. If its 1v1 and the enemy tries to evade the pet by flight that can be very helpful for classes without pets or casters, and as soon as the SM enters flight (maybe to goad the enemy back to them or to get a nuke off) the enemy may come back to take advantage of the SM's vulnerability of no-pet, but then depending on the players' class they may come to attack only to find the SM jets back to the ground to take advantage of their trapping moves and pet and it starts over. So, maybe they think it will give non-pet classes more of a shot at evading the pet while nudging the SM to be more strategic instead of: "sic pet bake cookies nuke pick nose die yawn" :) But then again if its a ranged class vs SM then it might be bad because then they could force flight-only combat while effectively lessening the SM's power (no pet) and keeping their own maximized. But, then again do we have any clue how reliant SM's will need to be with their pets? If they are made so that no-pet = big loss then it could be a problem of imbalance. But, if they are made so that no-pet isn't as devastating to their abilities, then it's probably not too big of an issue. But, then again this would probably only apply to ranged classes vs SM?

Sure it would be cool to have a flying pet, but I think the changes to SM will encourage a nice dynamic to battles between you and SM in general by making it ground AND air combat instead of just one or the other.

Also think about how sweet it will be to knock or pull a fleeing enemy out of the air into a group of your fraction members, SM actually gains a new role as the class that helps finish off the runners. Flying pets would be nice, but I just get too much fun out of chasing down the enemy to tell ncsoft no on this idea.

Yea i agree with Zarath, snatching someone from the air sounds sweet......maybe make them slam into the ground and cause extra damage (see feathers flying on impact). :D

Flying combat !!!!!
We don't need no stinking flying combat !!!!
Come here you.

No worries, i still think they will add a flying pet when they add higher lvl content in the future.

Q: One of the first things that people will notice is the flight dynamic. But like you explained early, this is not a situation where you have wings and fly all the time. Flight has to be used strategically. Tell us about the impetus of incorporating flight into the game.

Brian: We want you to think before you fly. We don’t want flight to be your mount. It’s not the game with wings. We want it to have a reason and purpose. For example, in combat, some skills will work and some won’t. It is also on a timer, so players will have different types of buffs, armor and enhancements that increase that. Also there will be different skills that take flight away. So if you see someone that is attacking from the air, and you take their flight away, they’ll drop to the earth and take a lot of damage and maybe die. So it might not have been the smartest thing to take to the air against that class. We want you to think before you fly and to use flight when you need it, and not take it for granted.

There are other classes that may not need to fly as much, because their role in the legion – which is our guild system – is to stay on the ground and be the brute force.

So, that's our skill. If you let them fly high enough, a low hp class could probably die, and if they stay in ground, they are in range to be attacked by our spirits.

Great isn't it?

We have a 1-hit killing skill.

Hardly, when flying, you cover ground significantly faster then someone on foot. So if you are trying to get away, fly high enough that the pet can't get you and out of the SM's range, which shouldn't be hard because the SM's won't want to be standing next to anyone.

Wind spirit is faster than any char and SM can fly and follow the runner to send him to the ground.

It's not OP, if someone is smart enough he won't fly in front of a SM.

i had the chance to play a beta 3 spirit master today, i was really frightened, had no chance against a templar, cleric or gladiator. pet was just an auto attack addition (fire) that didnt do that much. and spells were not really all that impressive. (cleric could easily heal trough without much hassle) That spiritmaster sure was only l12 tough, but from the basic spells it ddnt stand much chance against the other classes as it is now with the beta 3 client. Can only hope to see a total revamp of the pet system with the open beta in korea. and with l12 i had no spell to ground an enemy, so flying was like taking away some dps of me (and you need to stand sill to cast most spells, so being agile while flying doesnt really help when you have to stop to cast)

Mmm... if I remember well... in CBT2 only wind spirit had a skill and the water spirit nuked, but I'm not sure. Maybe you were low lvl... well.. whatever, we have to wait until OB to see how SM come.

Sounds like an acceptable solution, though it would be nice to have a flying pet as an option; for diversity sake.

I'm happy with the ability to yank people out of the air. A flying pet would still be cool, but I'm fine with how it is.

Spirit masters are sounding extremely bland.......

Sorcs are still looking alot better and i wish that wasnt true.

I wanted the SM to be be a really fun class but its just sounding like a Lock from Wow.....
but the Grounding spell is interesting i guess.
