One thing I really wanted to be able to do on my sorc was to be able to set one target as a "CC" target and be able to apply CC and to then switch back to DPS as fast as possible, also to then reapply CC and switch back to DPS quickly..
It can be really fiddly trying to tab through multiple creatures or click on something once you have cc'd something
Now this is actually quite awkward to do.. some people use a standard "target last target" type macro but I wanted something a bit better..
However there are some drawbacks..
1. this only works if you are in range of both your CC and your group's tank
2. this does NOT work correctly if there is more than 1 mob with the same name
Make a new macro and name it "focus", then copy and paste the following in to it (this macro will set your target as your "CC" target)
Place this somewhere on your hotbar
Make another new macro and call it "Focus cc", then copy and paste the following into the macro.. (this macro switches to your "CC" target, casts curse of roots on it and then automatically switches to whatever your tank is attacking)
/Skill Curse of Roots I
/Skill Select Target's Target
Place this somewhere on your hotbar.
HOW TO USE THESE MACROS:
First of all I always move the tank in my group to the top of the list, to do this simply drag and drop your tank's group icon to the top of the list, this makes him group number 1.. Before your tank pulls the pack of mobs, target the mob you want to CC and use the first macro.. Then use the second macro once the fight begins. This will cast Curse of roots on the mob you set as a CC target and immediately switch targets to whatever your tank is targetting so you can dontinue to DPS without fumbling around trying to tab to switch targets or worse case pick the wrong thing and pull aggro and die. If you want to re-apply your CC spell, simply use the 2nd macro again. It will automatically switch to your "CC" target, cast your CC spell and it will automatically switch back to your tank's target again.
For full effect make 2 versions of macro 2 but replace "Curse of roots" with "Sleep".. This way once curse of roots wears off you can immediately cast sleep to keep the mob controlled.
By switching between curse of roots and sleep you can keep it controlled for the entire fight.
Not ideal I know but the macro system in AION is a bit clunky to say the least!
Please feel free to add any comments or suggestions to improve on this!
