Alright folks-

We all know and love Aion and most of us have for quite some time now. The US and EU communities recently got their first hands-on look at Aion in quite a long time, yet the MMORPG.com hype meter sits and a measly 7.03

So here is the plan and the action. Please note, its going to take more than a one time click but we're dedicated fans, aren't we?

First of all, if you're already a member of MMORPG.com with 5/100 points or more from activity, you're all set. Log in, and direct yourself to this link and hype it up!

If you're not yet a member of MMORPG.com, join. The Hype system doesn't allow you to vote until you have 5 points worth of activity. This can be gained by posting in the forums (preferably something awesome about Aion.) and simply by logging in. Thats where the "more than a one time click" part comes in. If you're lazy, simply return to this thread a couple times per day and follow this link to log in every so often. Once you've hit 5/100, hype it up!

Even after the great article posted by MMORPG Community Manager Richard Cox (located on AionSource here) people are still dubbing Aion as the typical Korean grindfest, so lets show them all that the game is worth the hype! With AoC and WAR out of the way, there's no reason Aion shouldn't be at the top of the list.

Here's the kicker. When posting your hype comment, sign the comment with your AionSource forum name, ie knite16 (and also reply in this post). If we get the hype up to 8.0 by 10/01/08, I will draw a name from this post's replies. If they can verify that they "hyped" Aion by showing me their post with AionSource username in it, they'll win an official Aion tee given to me at PAX (As much as I don't want to give it up, it's worth it!) from AionSource.com! If we make it to 9.0, I will have another drawing for something else to be determined.

So.. Make a MMORPG account, HYPE Aion!, and post in this thread that you have. If you can't Hype Aion yet, log into MMORPG a couple days and you should be fine. Let's do this!

EDIT: I was planning on making an official AionSource.com contest soon, but I need ideas. If anyone wants to hop on the AION IRC channel and help me brainstorm (my nick is MarkJW), feel free.

AION tshirts, not AionSource.com tshirts. Those will come later. The shirts knite and I have in mind are the official shirts NCsoft gave us. ;)

I hyped it so long ago... but yea, the game suddenly dropped for no reason (WAR sabotage imo). When I checked I found this last comment which made me laugh =)

Coming to think about it.. who the hell cares if they hype all the games with 1 or w/e they do so they could prove they have a bigger e-***** than the other gamers... The people who actually are real MMORPG players and like to stay informed know which is the next big MMO game .. and it surely isn't Darkfall (watched a presentation movie again and damn those graphics are so 2002)
Plus, they are all on Aionsource! :)

Guys, this is really easy, this account took me a day to hype it.

I checked this morning and I was boosted to a number 13/100 (it takes a minimum of 5 to Hype anything). All it takes is posting on a few threads and wait until 2am for the credit. Overall took a few hours of wait, a few minutes of posting and I was able to Hype a very anticipated game.

Thanks for those who've voted already, but we've got a long way to go! Those Darkfall and WAR fanboys (and generally ignorant people) are killing Aion's rating and making other people draw their own stereotypes because of that! If we get that rating higher, people will think twice about what exactly Aion is!

Don't hype Aion,please . Let the marketing folks and developers do that . If the game is any good it will get raving reviews and previews and will shoot to #1 spot anyway . Overhyping titles has been the undoing of many of them : RGTR had real trouble due to that and only now seems to get it right , AoC seems to be over before it had a chance to prove it's a good one , Warhammer will most probably be an unfinished release due to hype etc.


There's something to be said for the "valve-approach " even : you hear nothing at all about upcoming releases from those developers but the stuff they produce is so good and polished ( and more importantly : finished ) they get the best scores in reviews every time .
