Really.

Just spent half an hour trying to fight a chanter whom was one level above me, he just practically stood there pressing Healing Light.

This guy was not exactly a good player, Did not pot snare, did not fly to catch up nothing really.
Practicaly stood there healing healing and when a snare got resisted he'd try run after me then.

The exact same thing happend to me about 4 days ago with another chanter, i put that down to the 5 level gap but seeing the exact same thing with a guy only one level above is pathetic.
30min battles are not fun when either side gets no leeway- if that guy knew what to do with his class it would not surprise me if i fell flat on my face under no time at all :)

Team Game? healers are OTT in there too, exact same thing, spam the healing spell.

Yup, just duelled a friends cleric a few times on my glad, he wiped the floor with my glads face so much it's not even funny... The root spamming and burst is ridiculous... Oo

Clerics are another thing >_> Its like comparing a god and a mortal from Cleric to Chanter but i see chanters whining so much on their forum that they are bad 1v1.

Bad 1v1- but can last half an hour by spamming a single skill.

Now imagine if you were a templar against that chanter, omg... But then the chanter could have complained too : "I kept stunning and knockbacking and damage dealing that templar, but he just used a lesser healing potion here and there and stood up for hours, templars are so OTT".

Versus chanter, burst/sleep/silence/burst, and if that's not enough run away, because you don't have knockbacks like glads or stuns like sins or fear like SM.. As a ranger, your easy targets are sins (free AP?), sorcs and glads, not chanters. And don't go put OOP or OTT posts just because you can't win a fight against a same lvl player of whatever class (and actually, as far a class balance is concerned, at 42+ I think the well played chanters will have an edge on you 1vs 1, not just stalemates, just deal with it.. if you want to have it somewhat easy against chanters, play a SM or a sorc. SM is like "I'm designed to deal with healers (even clerics) and make them have nightmares").

I would not mind if they had the edge (if they do at later levels) as long as it comes in the form of them using some skill to do so.
Not simply spaming bloody healing light until the sky comes down!

One thing to bear in mind - heals don't scale with gear. So when you have your +10 Gold Pwnbow of Curbstomping, you should be able to mow through their HP much faster (especially via burst). Heals seem overpowered right now because quite frankly, they are - they're meant to scale to the needs of endgame group PvP, not 1v1 at level 30.

Yea i know. Don't know what to think.
This is 30-40 range (for me) and i guess its not end game.
All i am saying if it turns out much the same with good end game gear levels... people will whine alot more than they do now. Me included! :P

It would be much easier if heals did scale with gear, then they would not be so damm big for low levels right now and not to mention healers would have more of a reason to get new gear.

Man, Chanter's aren't OTT in any way. So what if chanters can survive for a long time...? they also can't kill very well either. They're very similar to a Templar in 1 on 1 PvP... hard to kill, but you're not really in danger of being killed either.

What the hell are you talking about?

Clerics and Chanters are HEALERS! Their job is not to do damage. Their job is to work with a group of people to take out the other faction/NPCs. Of course, when they are by themselves, they rely on their healing ability to survive prolonged fights. And how do you not understand that the game is focused around group PvP? No one can take a fortress by themselves. Very few people travel alone in the Abyss unless they know it well enough to avoid conflict (except maybe Sins who can hide and take people out with burst damage).

This isn't like other PvP games where they design classes around 1vs1 PvP.

If you have some good reasons to add that why healing around the 30-40 bracket is ''okey'' then go ahead!

But please don't come and say-
''ITS A GROUPS GAME MJATE BALLACE IS NOT NEEDED :DD''
Or
''healers should not damage''
