This is starting to grind on me a little bit now. I have done 90-100 WO's at 399 and still no shield recipe. Though, I have got quite a few recipes that I didn't have before, so that is nice. But I am ready to be done with WO's for good :P

Going to try doing another 30-40 tonight, I don't have enough for many tries on the shield yet, so it is no rush right now. Once a few things start happening, I should be pushing up to 400 and beyond very quickly. Hopefully this week sometime.

After reading here i guess i was really lucky.
Then i tried making my first lvl 33 Expert chain boots and that proc too.
But since i havent critted on 3 items

Hi!

Yesterday after 11 failure (13 non-HQ item in row) i made the green Adamantium shield.... now comes the expensive part... :)

Ps are the other servers selling fluxes for stupid prices? Whats the average flux price, major and up?

Luckily, only spent 4-6mill on those shields to get 1 to proc and then another proc'd right after! Created 3 at the time and 2 proc'd out of those 3 after 5 failed before that. Ended up selling the shield for 1.5m.

Now still working on the last part of the quest, such a pain!

i found the green shield for the first test on the broker for 900k, for the second test...i waited till i had enough fluxes for 3 tries.
I grinded a lot and got most of my worthy armor fluxes myself, then bought some more off the broker. i had enough of the other mats for 3 tries.

and then i procced on the first try o.O

Nerd Rage FTW. 0/9 on the Orichalum shield which the the only thing I spend my money on. That is in a row ove rthe last week.

Wo Pre Ar's are coming down but it's still disgusting.

I had to do over 500 lvl 390 work orders to get the drop.

On a side not it seems like it only drops so many times per hour or something like that so the more people crafting work orders the less chance you get.

It also seems this way with procs on normal crafting. I felt like I was having the worst luck since I'm on in the evening during high usage.

I got on sunday morning and got 5 greens and 3 blues and 2 whites out of 10 crafts. Ridiculous. :cry:

I got two Worthy Noble Durable Adamantium Great Swords in a row after 4 Noble Durable Adamantium Greatswords.

Guildie was working on this last night. I forget how many he tried before; I think it was 5. He made enough for 3 more.

Critted on 2. was pretty funny. He had to tab out because he couldn't stand watching.

Personally I think it was due to my secret technique. :D

Hello, I regretfully post here to tell you that, in my case here are how things happened :

- I did the first part of the quest (399 p work order) on first try : nothing exceptionnal
- I critted the Noble Adamantium shield on first try : was quite happy
- bought enough to do 5 (only) 390 p work orders (with the only money I had left, I was very broke) and got the design for the Green Durable Orichalcum shield after 3 work orders only : at that point I figured I was the lucky guy ^^
- As I am only level 35, it took me a bit of time to gather 3 millions for the first attempt, and, whithout the help of a very generous guildie I would still be there.

It critted on first try !!!.:jealous:

I am now AS expert, probaly one of those to whom it had costed the very minimum possible :)

Now you can throw me rocks, I don't care, my super nifty Triumphant helm will protect me ^^:suave:

i have just hit lvl 30 and Armorsmithing is 401

The recipe for the last shield can be obtained from doing the lvl 390 work order, can take a while as they are random itemthe master gives you, but they are there.

I have found that if you gather all the required item to make more than 1 at a time. I made first one and failed, next attempt i got enough mats to do 2 combines and buy the sounds of things i got really luck, it proc'ed on the second attemp.

The reason i went for Mastery was that it was too expencive to fail, so i thought that Mastery was a garrentee that you crafted the maximun item from a recipe all the time. My information was incorrect.

So the morrel of the story is:
a; Make sure you got enough mats to make multipal items
b; dont do it unless your really really want the Hat that you get for Mastery

Just got my Worthy Durable Orichalcum Shield pattern this morning after 160 Work Orders. Sucks that I'd just bought the mats for another batch of 20 Work Orders though... I kept track of all my work orders cost less the cost of mats I would have to make for the shield (Work Orders drop plates/ingots/wires/acids) as well as less the cost of other green/blue patterns. In the end I spent about 200k on getting that damn pattern. Now comes the hard part. Although I am encouraged by Premium Flux prices, they were around 1.1 M last week on Yustiel but last I checked are around 450k. Time to gather and bide my time...

Took me around 350 work orders to get the design. Two attempts made at the shield so far; no luck yet... for the second attempt, not only did I not crit, I failed the shield completely =( blah!

I feel very unlucky. My first shield came very close to failing as well. What gives? I mean, if I have to go through the bar twice (for a noble proc) it seems like the chance of actually completing the freaking shield is pretty ******.... am I missing something?

edit: ah, fail bar resets when you proc noble. Word.

Yeah, I got lucky, had mats critted on first, (It was actually like the first recipe i got at 380 skill too) - that said, I'm having horrible luck getting points >405, made like 40 scales and only got 1 point.

Dear Journal , today the 20-11-2009 still in that room were it smells anger , frustration and unwashed players , that room were i'm stuck at lvl 399 doing work orders for that green design .....no need to mention what design ...most of ppl are hopping to get it .. its only day 4 and still nothing ......hope is in the air ---> yup not anymore for me ..... today i've waisted 3M once more and still a big nice NOTHING ...
So i went to pay a visit to the broker after 4 hr straight Work orders .....and as usual i typed in search " Design: Worthy Durable Orichalcum Shield " and what do i see dear journal ....1 design for sell for the very modest amount of 57M .....seller "yungchium " ............. @#$%^&(*&% argggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm starting to really think of droping this game .....no more fun ...no more joy of doing something usefull.....

ok today i have tryed something new ....i abandon the quest and took work order 380 and on the 3th roll got the design ....and sience i have bought items for 10 work orders i keept doing them to finish my mats and i got 1 more design on my 9th try... so i think it works .... abandon the quest and do the work orders ...gl to u all .
