A Gladiator is like a Warrior using Arms/Frenzy in WoW and a Templar is like a Paladin?

Is that the gist of it?

I've not played WoW but I imagine so?
Gladiator is the basic melee damager (typically uses a variety of hard hitting weapons or dual weilds), Templar the basic tank (sword and shield, taunt abilities etc.).

I believe templars are main tanks in Aion. They got stuffload of def skills. Not sure tho. There are a lot of rummors around. All the vids I have seen so far, templars tank in them. :/ Unless they are glads with shields. 0.0

From what I've read thus far, Gladiators will be able to hold their own (as a tank) more efficiently than a Fury/Arms War in WoW. But yes, seems Templars are the MTs (shields and more enmity utility).

Stop calling Gladiators tanks! There are differences between tanks and those who can live through a bit of punishment. Tanks have skills to keep agro on them. Try to have a good AoE party with a gladiator. Get real...

Templars are Main tanks because of the protection buffs, aggro utility, and dmg mitigation skills. they can take some serious punishment, altho they cannot deal dmg equal to Glad, they are more endurance fighters, wich tanks are suppose to endure everything, Glads are awsome dealing dmg, partied along with heavy armor they too can take some serious dmg, not as good as a templar but so-so, IMO Glads are just insurance :)

Simply:

Templars are the MAIN Tank of Aion no ifs, ands, or buts. Although, they can dish out some nice dmg.

Glads CAN, off-tank and SOMEtimes main tank. For the most part their an AoE Melee DPS from what I've read.

@Ramiel - You're correct. justamemory is confused I think. They are not a Healing/Support tank. They have very minimal heals and let me stress MINIMAL.

Templars do not heal in Aion...they get one self heal as a stigma later in there levels but its not that significant. They are a meat shield tank, Glads are AOE dps and can tank in a sticky situation as they do have taunts.
