Biggie Smalls seems to be having a resurgence these days due to a mashup of "Party and Bull@#$%" with Miley Cyrus, of all things. I've heard it and I'm not sure if I like it or if the black Frank White is rolling over in his very large grave.

I personally feel TuPac and Chris are down in the Caribbean chillin' laughing at the bankrolls they got.

HipHop has pretty much lost its way the past decade.

I'm a hip hop fan, and a bigger funk fan. Spent 4 years poppin, the music's gotten pretty ingrained in my personality.
I mostly stick with the funky hip hop though. Dungeon Family, Jurassic 5, Gnarls Barkley, Tha Liks, e-40, I got a lot of random stuff.

I'm amassing a pretty decent hyphy collection, actually. Now there's a sub-genre that never got the respect it deserved. Check out Federation's "Say Yeah" if you haven't heard it.

Tupac all the way. He did more for the genre then anyone else imo, and I feel he was the end of the hip-hop/rap Renaissance. Everything afterwards is either a character portraying a character or just pure garbage like Soulja boy. Biggie was definitely one of the better rap artists in history, but I don't think he had anywhere near the impact Tupac had, and quite frankly I think people give him more credit then he's due.

The ones I still like to a degree or as follows:

1. Lil' Wayne
2. Jayzee
3. Twista

And I only like them because they have sick beats and great lyrical flows. They still lack the substance Tupac had in his hay day. And truth be told I think the genre does more to decimate the intelligence of it's fans then anything else these days.

Wu-tang is good, I'll listen to it but I don't really download much.

i realy dont like rap/hiphop and it is prolly as low talent music genre as you get.. along with boybands and disney pop... but they did have some very good ppl at some point run dmc and cypress hill is the only ones that come to mind.. what you see today is nothing but the sound of cash... get a black dude out of prison throw some diamonds, gold, shiny cars and some black girls with over grown asses and shaking as they where having a seizure BOOM now you have a money machine.. its so brainless and retarded i realy feel sorry for the ppl that fall for this crap.. its like they changed the audiance from teenage girls (90's boy band) for stupid white suburban kids.. i use the white kids as an example here cuz i think it looks so stupid when they try so hard to be black... you are nothing but sheeps.. but unlike some of you that come in to the metal thread i dont talk out of my ***.. here are some rap/hiphop i think are pretty cool (mainly the aerosmith run dmc) but that being said rap does not have a place in metal as you see in modern bands.. its just fucking awful..
