The client is _ALL_ Files, including the dll's, and even files such as teh graphic files and so on, EVERYTHING is the client, modifying a single file breaks the EULA.

Running Aion, Chrome, and Task Manager on an otherwise clean install of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
No Anti-Virus? Anything else installed on your PC? Also try to disable any Windows Features you don't use via the "Add/Remove Windows Features"
As for you MugiMugi, why would Donovan give me the go ahead on the DLL? It's not like he does not know what i've done.

Login, run to siege, kill 1 guard. crash.
Login, run back to siege, Guardian at about 25%, kill him, fly up top to fight leftovers. crash.
Thanks for your help Azazel but unfortunately this did not fix the issue.
:(
Send me a FULL list of programs you have installed.

Maybe because Donovan is going to quit this Friday and is waiting to tell his boss "screw you guys... I'm going home"

Hello Ken,
I agree, if it works it will be made official. We just need to have it verified and then included in the testing and patching. It will just take a bit of time.
Definitely update me if you have a different fix for 32-bit.
Thanks,
Donovan

I am trying to figure out why it works for the majority of people but fails to work for others. That is why i need people to send me a FULL list of programs you have installed on your PC.

I love this self gloating stuff.
Truth of the issue is that no matter what you do to the client you will NOT be able to fix the crashing issues. It's going to happen no matter what until they fix the leaking issues with the texture / graphic loading system. All systems experience the crashing issue the only thing the differs is the time needed until the crash happens. On XP machines its generally about 50x longer then on Vista/7 machines. That has to do with how each of the OS's handles memory cleanup for rouge programs.
They have already stated they are looking into it and working on afew different ways to help fix the issue. From adding more graphical options that you can turn on and off to also fixing the root issue itself.
And just FYI by adding in a >2gb memory address will not fix the program. The program has to be programmed to handle more then 2gb of memory. While there is a simple compiler flag for this, it does not work unless the program itself is designed to handle more memory. From my work with the Cry Engine its coded so that the texture pipeline will only use up so much space before it starts dropping out (of cache) old textures and models. This is where Aion is having its issues. Some where one of the devs has tweaked the system and got something out of wack with the rest of it.
So while I commend your effort in TRYING to fix the problem. Its outside our hands to do so. And btw it doesnt matter what a CM or Dev member says if its written in the EULA the Ban hammer team can hit you. And I am fairly certain that its in the eula that you can no modify the client in any way shape or form. So use at your own risk. I would defently go back to using the original when they get GG added back in soonish.

I don't run an antivirus; they cause more problems than they fix/prevent.
Other than the three I mentioned, I have Adobe Flash Player 10, Java 6, MS office 2007, Nvidia Drivers, Ventrilo x64, and WinRAR installed. None of them are running when I play Aion. I unchecked a bunch of stuff when I first installed 7, and basically all that's left is Media Player.

@ Tom Would you like to explain how this fix worked for others and they have not crashed since?
@ Perpetual What motherboard/memory/video card you have?

Very much so true. But whatever you choose to believe, OP's fix DOES work. Not perfectly, but it makes things a HELL of a lot better. I rarely crash and when I do.. it takes a shitload for it to happen. Before I would crash much, much, much more frequently. So does it stitch up the wound? No, but it puts a nice big spankin' band-aid on it.

Never once did i say it was perfect or it was going to work for everyone. But if it did not work at all i would have never bothered with it in the first place.
