Because it sure feels like a F2P game..

NC Soft, Guild Wars was one of my all time favorite games, how could you guys go from that to this? I have been following this game since early 2006 and have tried my very best to like it.. It just seems that no matter how much I try the problems are far to great for me to continue playing. I have canceled my subscription to the game until a few major problems get fixed, if they don't get fixed I will not continue to play. Problems that need addressing asap:

1. "Oceanic Based Servers" - I live in Australia and play on 700ms on average. I once saw a post by a player from N.A and he stated "I usually get 70-80ms If my ping reaches 200ms It becomes unplayable", Using a proxy service doesn't even get us close to 200ms! If 200ms is unplayable then what is 700ms? If you are not going to ever move Nezekan or any future oceanic time zoned servers to an oceanic country just tell us so we can stop hoping. Moving it to the west coast of N.A is much better then the east coast however I believe it is still not good enough. We pay for the same game as N.A players yet we get a dodgy service.

Do not for one second assume that if we were given our own server that it would be a ghost town and we wont be able to fill it because that is a load of nyerk. Aussies are sick and tired of being treated like dirt in the gaming world.. Seeing screenshots of people in N.A with 60ms makes me want to quit the game. The only way to play the game half decently is using a proxy service which brings our ping down to around 300ms, 2 problems with that, the first being it costs money, as if paying for the game isn't enough we also have to pay for a proxy service (no matter how much the cost is, it still a unnecessary cost that people overseas do not have to pay) and the other being that we can be banned for using a proxy "by accident". GM's have stated that due to people using the same IP on a proxy service it is hard to tell who is botting or breaking the rules and it is possible for our account never to be unbanned. I don't want to pay $20 AUD per month plus an extra $6 AUD for a proxy service and still not get the same performance as people in N.A then get my account banned due to NC Soft making a mistake.

Once again.. Please tell us if you have no intention to give us Oceanic based servers so that we can stop hoping and quit Aion for good.

2. "The Grind" - I don't mind grinding all that much but since Aion mobs are not as easy as other games (something that I fell in love with) It just seems that I am sitting down more then I am getting XP. Herb Treatment barely heals you for anything and if I make/buy potions I end up being so poor that I cant afford the heal soul cost. After 2 mobs I am sitting down for a good 20 seconds, the only way I have found grinding in Aion to be half bearable is every single time i sit down to rest I alt tab to forums/IRC and post something and alt tab back in after 20 seconds. Quest rewards should be greater but with the amount of quests in this game don't waste your time with it. Grinding on mobs is the real way to level up therefore boosting XP from mobs by a lot is necessary. Herb treatment should also be buffed a lot, enough to heal at least half of my HP. Yes you have stated that you are boosting XP from both quests and mobs however we both know that it will not be by much, boosting XP by 10-20% is really not acceptable. If I want to be bored and grind ill re subscribe to Lineage 2.

3. "Botting" - Keep telling us that you are doing "everything possible". We don't buy it.

4. "Animation & Response time" - While I am sitting if I want to stand instead of jumping up instantly there's this 2 second animation. This is both annoying and bad for pvp. If a sorc is casting while I am sitting instead of jumping up and instantly and ambushing him my char takes her time to get up and by that time the spell is cast on me and another one is on its way.

5. "Friends List" - Allow us to add friends when they are offline.

6. "Trade Broker is Broken" - I cannot type in the first part of an item and it find it, It has to be written the exact same and is case sensitive. For checking the price of an item you have in your cube is not a big deal you just alt click it, however if you are looking for an item that you don't know the full name of however you know a word in it or the letter it starts with it is almost impossible to find.

7. "Who.." - When looking for people just like the trade broker you have to write in their name exactly the way it is spelled, I cant type in asee for Aseenus and it will find it.

8. "Melee in the abyss" - I had thought to myself a long time ago that ranged classes would have a great advantage in the abyss but then thought "No way, NC Soft will some how balance it so that ranged classes don't just destroy melee in the air" but now I find myself being attacked from above then bringing out my wings only so the ranged class can kite me around for a good 30 seconds causing my death.. Ambush doesn't work in the air, Yes we get a ranged air stun at higher levels but that takes up a stigma slot, plus what are we meant to do, get our behinds handed to us for the first 40 or so levels before we can stand a chance? I love world pvp, I love being ganked.. Usually because in any game I play I win in world pvp. In Aion the only way I can win is if I attack first, if I don't attack I just run away and hope that they stop flying and land or leave. While leveling in Morheim when Elyos would come through the rifts and I would 1v1 them it was great! even if they out numbered me it was still great, because I could fight them and they couldn't kite me in 200 different angles. Nerf there damage in the air by a lot so they are forced to the ground where it is even playing fields plus make ambush/dash attack and other skills like these work in the air.

9. "Rubber banding" - I don't know if this is my latency or if this is the servers still doing it but I have heard reports of players in N.A complaining about it too. It happens way too much.

I really tried to like Aion, there are a lot of things in Aion that I enjoy but these problems are far too big for me to continue playing, Please fix NC Soft!

I think ArenaNet did Guildwars, a group that used to be part of Blizzard

Not at all. That completely false. The search engine is excellent because the fact it's case sensitive actually reduce the number of wrong results. That way, if you type "Ae", it'll find all the Aether you want and not the Daemonic stuff.
If you don't know the full name, and you don't know a word in it, what do you know about the item?
Choosing to take the time to type caps in order to speed up the search is logical. Being too lazy to type with caps, moaning that you have a charged planning of a minister, and then having to scroll through unwanted craps isn't logical.

It feels the same to me too... sad to say. The support structure is effectively the same as Gwars. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm paid for one more month. Not sure if I will resub after that.

Ever use google? You do realize that is the standard by which searches must live by, right?

I'd even prefer raw regex to the current broker search.

I know alot of fan boys will pounce on this thread and spam QQ but why cant we have a few proper answers .. its ******** that we have to wait and see? Im paying nc soft and when i ask them to explain what they are doing with my money i get no answer .. if i try and contact a gm .. i get no answer .. in fact we are getting less and less information as time goes on.
And has anyone noticed how much ******** is getting put out about aions players being happy? ... I think its about time nc soft either admit they cant handle the job so that we can all save money and leave ... If they can do this .. do it now .. in parts if need be but do something ... we are sick of this wait and see .. prove your doing something ..

Honestly anyone saying the botting isn't a fine piece of NCsofts lax on their "centrepiece" game is a blatent liar/ completely naive and does not even log into Aion.


I wish that NCsoft would seriously hold up to their own terms of service and the EULA or w/e its called. I mean we see it every single time we log into the game... why is it so hard for them with their supposed "epic" amount of subscribers paying in and massive sales on pre-order/collectors edition to manage this?

I will never understand it and it makes me question why I spend my money this way.

I agree with some of your points and not so much with others.


This game IS a bit grindier than some recent MMOs in terms of leveling time and even bigger kinah sinks. I find RMT repulsive and would never support it, but I can see how they easily prey on people with this game because the money demands are insane, and the crafting mind numbingly boring and obnoxiously expensive, add in soul heals etc... and damn.

Now I don't mind death penalty, but the biggest thing I struggle with is being broke in this game. I know some people brag about having millions, I guess I haven't figured out there secret (or they are buying kinah perhaps)

As far as the questing though, Im not getting where people are coming from. I have been questing my whole way so far and im 35, and still have a full quest log, and they just seem to keep popping up from out of everywhere.

I find the animations and leveling in this game fine, again not as fast and easy as wow, but enjoyable pace for me minus the money sinks.

The Trade Broker stuff doesnt bother me in the least.

The bots I agree with you, I dont buy for a minute they are doing everything they can .. hell give a handful of players ban abilities and the bots will be gone in no time, they are laughably easy to find and pretty much like cockroaches (everywhere)

so far its not driven me to quit the game, but definitely makes me wonder why they haven't taken care of the bots yet.

The class imbalances are kind of annoying too, Im all open to the world pvp thing, and keep hearing things get better at 50, but really I dont think I should have to play all the way to 50 (esp given the leveling curve in this game) to be competetive in a PVP based game .. this is retarded. Plenty of classes are competetive right out of the gate, can solo elites etc.. etc..

Why do other classes get boned ??

anyways, sorry the game isnt living up to your expectations, for me its sill a breath of fresh air and has my attention (although its not ALL Roses) Im willing to see how it plays out, because there ARE so many addictive factors to this game. NC plays its cards right and they will have a real winner here.

They got 400K pre-subs now they just need to keep us :)

I cancelled my sub a few days ago because it was just getting unbearable to play this game, the lag & kill steal'n botz was the straw that broke the camels back, unfortunately.

Pressing a skill and waiting 5 seconds for it to fire off is not fun, specially in PvP mode !
