Mine and my wife's account both got banned. I have yet to know why, we dont run any 3rd party programs, we haven't bought gold, in fact we block gold spammers every time we see them pop up in chat, and we haven't swore or said anything offensive to anyone in game, in fact we keep pretty much to ourselfs. The only thing that has changed is we got her an account to play, once we got her account it was maybe 3 - 4 days and now today we are both banned. We both play at home on seperate computers, computers that are networked, I dont know if that has something to do with it or what, but as far as I know neither one of us has done anything wrong to even deserve a suspension... we both enjoy the game, this is my wife's first MMO other then runescap lol. Anyway I guess I'll have to try and get ahold of NC some how, seems like a pain in the butt unfortunatly, and hopin that whatever is going on can be straightened out.

Definitely contact them asap, they've been known to make mistakes. Supposedly other people's autohuntingreport's can give you trouble, but they're supposed to investigate before banning, so again it's probably some unfortunately mistake.

i dont think they care if you swear in game... in fact why have a profanity filter if your going to ban people for swearing?? they wouldn't... plus i swear in almost every sentence without even realizing it..

best option is to email NCsoft or call them dude... GL with getting your accounts back.

Yea I sent them an e-mail... just got the generic auto response, :( I'm just sittin here bored on my day off lol, guess I can get up off my arse and do some work around the house. Actually one quick question about it, any clue how long it takes them to get back to you on these sorta things?

People who've been banned usually get it sorted out between 9 and 72 hours. I imagine it being a Sunday it'll probably at least be until tomorrow, unfortunately, before you get a response. Usually if its a mistake you get unbanned pretty quickly at least.

Lame, what a waste of money if they dont retract the banning. Ah wellz I guess, if thats the case guess I'll just have to move on, good game though, I enjoy playing it. Really didn't do anything wrong though, neither one of us did, so hopefully its just a mistake, guess we'll find out shortly. Thanks for the info there guys.

all MMOs trying to get rid of botting will have issues like this, its all a matter of trial and error.
losing faith or having a cry at NCsoft is stupid, they are trying to do the right thing but occasionally an innocent will get hurt by it, but they just need to contact support and i have full faith in NCsoft sorting through the trash to find legitimate cases where people have been accidentally banned for incorrect reasons.

...You don't know how many innocents have been "occasionally" banned have you? There are more innocents banned than botters.

Yup, first time being banned on any of the MMOS I've ever played, and this seriously sux... lol. So since I have some down time once again, (Sundays are really slow days for me) I think I'm going to look into some other games anyway, I'll wait to buy one though until I find out what NC is going to do. The one thing that is driving me up the wall about this is I have really no clue as to why I'm banned, If I knew why I dont think it would be as bad, because then at least I wouldn't be thinkin about it so much lol, and normally from games I've played in the past the ban-wand is not waved so freely that so many innocents get banned. I've been going through the forums and I have found there have been quit a few of these, some of them like Multi-boxing I dont agree with people being able to do it, but lets not open that subject :) there has been plenty of those posts as well.

No seriously I did not buy any... in fact I find the gold spammers annoying, and why would I have to buy gold? My highest lvl char is 18 templar, next lvl is a 15 almost 16 sorcer. Meh no, didn't buy gold, no reason to. In fact I found it pretty easy to make gold on this game, I just simply kill things and they drop the grey garbage stuff and just keep collecting it and then turn around and vendor it. It seemed to add up pretty quick.

I dunno, I keep hearing about all these innocent people getting banned, but neither I nor anyone in my legion have heard of anyone they know getting "innocently" banned. I'm definitely not saying it does not happen, I'm sure it does, but I'm not quite convinced it is as widespread as some may claim. There was an interesting link in a prior thread that lead to a known "cheaters" board where someone posted that they claimed innocence in their legit ban, and NCsoft actually restored their account. I'm not saying everyone who is posting that they are banned out of the blue are lying, but I have learned from experience not to believe everything posted by strangers on the internet.

Nah I understand that, I'm just mainly posting cause I'm frustrated, not really going to try to pursaude people one way or another because I felt the same way, people are banned for reasons... well I'm still waiting for my reason I guess I'll post it once it comes lol.

The last thing I want to do is cause a flame war or accuse anyone of lying, I truly believe NCsoft does make mistakes, plenty of them, but I've noticed some people on this board get into a very aggressive mode, and many people join in on the bashing bandwagon (both sides, really) concerning the recent bans. I have noticed a "small" decline of my servers bots, which brings a smile to my face, but just as I'm sure NCsoft makes mistakes, I'm sure there are people coming here, riding the coattails of those wrongfully banned, trying to gain sympathy/vent due to their legitamite ban, pretending they are among the innocent.

Coming here though isn't going to change NC's descision on my account so this is just kinda me being bored and frustrated, probably wont get a response from them until tommorow :( . I truly feel for anyone that was wrongfully banned, and I believe that anyone that was wrongfully banned should be compensated for their lost time, I know I would be extremely angry if I was wrongfully accused and banned. I'm not sure how NCsoft does their banning procedures, but a GM investigation would be a hell of alot better then an automated script. If NCsoft is using some type of automated banning script, and it's causing any number of wrongful bans, then I believe they should scrap it and apologize to their community, but that's probably asking too much =P I'm just a bit torn on the situation, as Bots/gold spammers, etc, are one of my biggest gripes with the game, and I'd love to see them ban 'em all (gold buyers included), but it would be a shame if NCsoft gets too "ban-happy" and take out legitimate customers, along with the trash.

One thing is for sure, NCsoft needs to expand their GM staff, make their presence shown on the servers, and do the ban hammering by hand rather then script.
