Did this miss the mark more than WAR?

Do you think WAR or AION was in better (or worse) shape after just a few weeks?
I'm going to have to say AION *shock* because it was already out for quite some time so it wasn't a new release and they had time to fix some of the glaring holes. Although as many said...like in WAR...the problems are so integral they can't really fix them without a big architectural redesign, which is why they never can be fixed :(
WAR did have more hype and advertising than this so in some ways that failed expectations more.
But I see WAR being able to attract new blood and have more of a 'future' than Aion.
Seems they had the codebase, so just localize it and dump it over there. Any $$$ is more than they would have had without it, minus the salaries for the 5 NCSoft West peeps.

How minor is a critical error that keeps you out of one of the game's biggest events?

At least WAR wouldn't crush my game every time there is 50+ vs 50+ battles in RvR areas.

I was hoping that Aion will support large Fort fights (where WAR obviously failed), but now it is clear that WAR beats Aion even in aspect of server stability and performance.

Game released a 1 month ago in EU/NA - what a great news.
Guess what? AoC had more than 1 mil subscribers on it's first month than somehow most of those subscriptions were closed.
Exactly what is already happening to Aion.
It's not hard to get a lot of subscriptions during the 1st one-two months, what is hard is to keep those players playing for more than 1-2 months.

At least all the quests/mobs work properly in Aion, about 10% of quests were bugged in WAR at release, mob pathing was fucked and animations frequently got stuck or didn't fire at all.
Yeah I'd definitely say Aion is in better shape.

My question is, did NA players miss the mark when picking Aion?

aoc was the third best selling mmo last year...do you realize how many mmos there are? thats pretty damn good.
again, more ppl are coming to aion then going its just that the going players are cry babies and make sure they get noticed, drama queens.

ROFL, thats a good joke. Try to jump onto any platform with very limited space - like the walls in Altguard near the village, or try to hug the wall in Abyss fortress when coming behind the corner.
Hell, after a whole year since release in Korea this freaking game doesn't even have WATER. Guess what happened when I jumped from a height into the lake...
Me and my friends were crushing not only during sieges (sieges is a total joke - you not only crush, you also get teleported outside the fort into a group of enemies waiting, oh joy) but simply during the questing. And thats with totally different PC specs.
Not to metion freaking launcher that would be stating game is .10 can't upgrade it to .9 half of the time so I had to force load without updating - couple weeks ago.

Keyword is "was".
MMO is not a single player game which you sell once and thats it. Most of income in MMOs comes from subscriptions. If MMO can't keep players playing for at least a year - it's an utterly failed MMO.

More ppls are coming? When I started playing Castor had queues starting from the 4 pm and all the way to 2 am. Now for big part of the day it's listed as Recommended. Pandemonium was so full it was really amazing - there were literaly crowds all over the place.
Oh, give me a break... Its only been a month since the release and game is already losing steam.

I don't mind if he wants to bitch and moan about it - as long as he can back it up with facts and not some made up B.S.
