Agreed about the FAQ thing. Unless you are rolling in AP, go get 100 molars and get the boots ASAP (or whatever the Asmo equivalent is).

Asmo equiv is MistMane hairs. They can be farmed any time and you get the quest to turn em in at 37. Ridiculously easy to get and they'll work fine until you get to Draupnir's or SteelRake(post patch)

You have a few options available to you when it comes to speed boots.

1. Guardian Squad Leader's Plate Boots. These are the iconic gold Abyss boots. +21% speed and a ridiculous six manastone sockets. The 58k AP price tag may seem intimidating, but if you farm players/guards/fortress instances you can get them fairly quickly. These are also somewhat of a status symbol, haha.

2. Elite Guardian Squad Leader's Plate Boots. Like gold Abyss boots, only better. Takes longer to farm and requires a bit of fortress seiging.

3. Ancestor Plate Boots. For the lucky ones out there, these drop off an elite named Merciless Ryugrad. They haven't got nearly the amount of manastone sockets as the gold Abyss pairs, but they're a good backup if you don't want to put in the hours to farm AP. These are BoP so you will not be able to buy them.

4. Expert Adamantium Plate Boots. Crafted using a blue recipe and can crit to a gold version. If you've got expert Armorsmith, more power to you; if not, they're probably on AH for a ridiculous price. The cost will drop in a few weeks, but for now I wouldn't buy unless you see them for super cheap or if you're rolling in cash.

5. Guardian Commando's Plate Boots. These come from a quest at level 37 for the Kralls in Kaidan Headquarters. It's a long quest, but these are the best alternative shoes if you can't get Abyss versions.

I just started working on mine myself last night in MM but does anyone know where I can find the red wooden box? or simply hope for the spirited breath shoes to drop from random mobs?

On the Elyos side, they're more likely to drop from a certian "species" of named mob. I say "species" because it is a slightly rare spawn and has a funny name, but there are a few of them that pop up around the area. Perhaps Asmodians have an equivalent?

From what I've read it appears to drop from any Mau and a low % at that.. guess I'll do a few more grind groups in MM before judging.

But a "shoe box" quest items should also be lying around somewhere in there (having a longer respawn time).

600-700k is really nothing at lvl 33-35 and I doubt cost will drop. We are talking about drop rate of blue fluxes. They most likely will always stay above 200k each.

They cost almost twice the price of Expert Adamantium and you need lvl 37...

Krall Molars should be spent on the Greaves for the +% flight speed.

But this really, really depends on your server - they may be only 600-700k on yours, but I've never seen them that cheap on mine.

If all of the upper Abyss fortresses are Balaur's, then the fluxes are pretty cheap, but they increase immensely, when there is access to the morphing recipes from Upper Abyss (allowing people to morph stones for their master quest out of those blueish ones (dunno exact, if it's the 33ish stones).

Then, how about reading more threads?

There are at least 3 more Threads questioning about that.

Please don't be telling people to not buy armor, especially when the people who craft are the ones who buy those aethers, other

harvested items, fluxes, and recipes that you find.

It's called, you get some and you give some. You seriously can't expect to sell your 400,000 kinah fluxes and yet refuse to pay

the armor do you?

They're over 2m on my server. The price WILL drop, as more people hit the level needed to drop the fluxes (yes, gasp, there are people below 3x), more people get expert tailoring, etc. It may not go down lots, but it will go down. Also, maybe 600k is nothing to you, but I know lots of people who couldn't dream of paying that for one piece of gear. I've been in and out of "poverty" myself on this game and I definitely couldn't afford that at times.

Krall Molars are free to acquire if you do all the grinding yourself (doesn't take THAT much really), although you are missing out on potential money. What I'm trying to say is, you will not go broke from grinding. You just won't gain money. If you buy the Molars, their price depends on your server. Some servers will pay very little for these, while with others, yes, 150 molars is twice the cost of the crafted boots.

Don't you need to do the boots quest to unlock those?

As much as I like being a knight in shining armour, helping the server economy, taking from the rich and giving to the poor, REALISTICALLY, not everyone can afford crafted gear. I know how much effort goes into crafting (399 alch myself, have tried and failed to make myself a full set of blue lvl 23 gear on a friend's tailor, etc), too. But for those of us who suck at this game -AHEM- are financially challenged, gear is damn EXPENSIVE. Gear is not the only money sink in this game. You have to save for consumables, skill books, stigmas, etc too.

On my server Molars sell for about 20k each, if I sold 100 I would make 2m. Expert Noble shoes only cost 2m, wouldn't it be better to sell my molars and buy some of these shoes? Or does this quest lead to other important ones?
