I've always looked at Gladiators with some kind of respect. Respect for stubborness of people playing this totaly weak melee class in a world of RvR (ranged vs ranged) that aion offers.

Looking at glad always made me feel better about my ranger, despite long cooldowns, lottery damage, many bugged and useless. "Glads have it worse", i think and things look better a bit. So maybe Gladiators exist to make other, even weak classes, look better? I dont know, but once again respect to you mates for taking one for the team.

But one day when NCsoft wakes up and nerf FOTM classes like sorc and buff glady a bit, hopefuly we all would have a better balanced game in the end.

THat end is called level 50 with good gear. Simple math is simple magical DD don't scale at all in AION. at lvl 35 ur inferno hits for 2k in PVP and ppl have about 3-4k HP only so they are like WTF almost one hitted but at 50 inferno hits for max for 4k and then ppl have 10k+ HP and its like nothing not to mention that physical damage starts doing like 1k or more criticals in PVP. 1k crits with random times doing 2k instant is better then one 2 second cast interruptible flame bolt imo.

if you think its not true just take a look at this video and see the sorc vs ranger performance, the sorc was only able to get one kill off basically because of the air hold that has 2min cooldown. while ranger 4-5 hits glad in under 5 secs.

Well, I'm glad people think so. Cause every time I when defeated another class, I can well imagine their annoyance of being killed by this 'totally weak melee class'. This is what makes me still want to play Gladiator. :sparkles:

I love how people think we're a weak class. Glads transform into unstoppable GODS at level 50. We're only weak and kitable at level low-to-mid game.

SO many noobs in this game assume that nothing changes after you first enter the Abyss. Level 25-35 is not endgame, people.

I know right? We must be the foolish ones, because we keep winning over and over again.

I admit I did die a lot before lvl 30, but since then I have really been doing much better. i still have trouble w/ Rng and SM in air battles, but thats another story. I can only see Glads getting better as more and more lvls get under our belts.

deriving a sense of worth or benefit from perceived adverse comparison is, I would say, philosophically flawed. In essence you are not satisfied with the nature of your own merits. To base happiness on this method of contrast is fundamentally flawed, you can only be happy by virtue of the faults of others.

returning to Aion :) The underlying observation of your signature speaks to a recognisable trait of the more dedicated Gladiator players - they have accepted challenge. Though I am yet to actively start dueling (I already avoid initiating 'ganking') in the Abyss, I am infinitely more inclined to play with a sense of challenge rather than the play with ease that certain classes possess when it comes to meaningful 'battle'.

i used to think like this untill i met a skilled glad

it was me + lvl 47 cleric, vs a lvl 48 glad

he killed my cleric in about 4 hits and managed to get me to 50% hp before i finished him off. glads, with 400~ crit and +attackspeed gear, are completely dominating in end-game pvp from what ive seen.

glads certainly arent as gimped as you belive them to be =p

gosh you're so dumb, clueless and bad

glad isnt weak, the majority of the people playing it are

theres a huge mountain difference.

I bet everything i got in here that if ur on my server around my level im gonna duel u and kill you and then you're gonna be like omg i was so stupid

p.s. it already happened with some other ppl and the sorc was like "i always thought glads suck" , 2 days ago he was like "glads prolly got best chance vs sorcs" funny isnt it?

My Glad is definately getting better @ 39, but still feels weak. Every time I try to take out a Sorc recently all they do is spam Freezing Wind and I die well before they do. By the time I even get their Shield Down I'm at half HP, can actually hurt them a bit with my Aerial Lockdown combo but not nearly enough to kill them - then they just pot, resume spamming FW and I'm dead

Hopefully it'l get better at 40 when I get my Cleave Chain and a bunch of other skills, will have to see really. Til they fix Aerial Combat though I doubt I'm gonna bother PvPing much with my Glad anyway - I have a Ranger for that.

still though, L25 - L37 Glad is fishfood in the Abyss and Sorcs faceroll like no tomorrow which is apparently fine and dandy because it's balanced at Lvl50 and that's all that matters (cause everyone playing will experience lvl50 right?)

had a similar experience when my sorc was about lvl 35 or something like that

except i was alone, glad was about the same level, and she killed me SO fast that i couldnt believe it, so i went back, and she did it again, so i went back and attacked her when she was fighting a mob and killed her >.<

every other glad i have met up to this day were free AP and didnt even land a single hit on my sorc before they died, so im guessing player skill plays a very, very important role for this class

It sounds just too simple but its fact, critical rate defines our power and effectivity. Especially here in Aion where you can gain about 50% or more critical rate, its absoloutly the most important stat for Glad. Exactly that is why we seem so low and are underestimated in the early levels, because it takes a while to get above 400 physical crit and with that amount of physical crit it doesnt care if we have 290 or 490 attack, we will do way more dmg(DPS) than ever than before we reached that point, so its not really lv 40-50 what is making us stronger, its the change with critical and attack. And i talk about 400+ crit with 2H.

I played so long another 2 MMO where Crit and Attack was exactly the same as here. In one of them the critcap was 50% and you could extend this cap with gear, on it Max Critical Rate +x%. And there was Critical DMG and Attack, which both increases dmg per critical hit.
47% critical rate(in Aion like 500 Physical Crit) was there like every 2. or 3. hit, no... even few times critical hits in a row in a short time.

Let me say you this: Glad is a crit- class, same as Assassine but with more spike DMG, if you rely on anything else you never will reach the best DPS. This is the importance order to reach the best DPS and KD rate: Phys Crit -> Attack -> Accuracy.

I even suggest to go above the softcap of 440 as softcap means only, the difference of increase between every new additional physical crit point after 440 will be lower. That means you can still go even more higher than 500 PHC to see a better(slightly but recognizable) effect and more KD rates.

Very nice but, if we could actually dual wield UZI's while wearing cowboy boots at 50 that would be just epic.

Huh - i must have somehow mistaken my self for being a rapist in pvp, obviously ive been kidding my self from the beginning, you know.... because were such a weak class right?

Now that i think about it all those thousands of people ive molested... they must of died by natural causes not massive burst and huge crits. And good old Ankle Snare + Unwavering Devotion? what was i thinking? its all clearly a lie.... those spells were not the catalyst for the tons of sorcs and sms and rangers and chanters ive killed.

Man i see clearly now, were a really weak class.... ive been imagining the pwnage this whole time.

Yeah then i woke up and sat at my pc and fucking raped face like usual and i realized the glads your killing are POS and the rest of us can demolish ****.

Oh, and get ready for 50 baby, because this is what happens for us.
