If you are NOT crashing and on a 64 bit OS, and participating in Sieges, please post.

It'll be good to hear an "All good" from some of you. Specifically the people on 64-bit Operating systems.

If you ARE, please post the following information:

  • Operating System

    How to find:
Start (orb) > Computer > Right click > Properties

You can post a screenshot or type it out, but we need processor, quantity of RAM and operating system version.

IF YOU POST A SCREENSHOT, BLUR/BLOCK/ERASE THE "PRODUCT ID:" as it is in the screen shot below.

    Posted Image

  • Crash dump

Copy and paste this on to the post.

    Posted Image

  • A DXDiag Output

You can upload this to the site. Under the post you are creating there is an "attachments" area. You can upload a file.

    The file we need!

Start>Run (or in the little search box) type: 'dxdiag'

    then hit Enter

The button on the bottom... "Save all information"

Upload the file it outputs, save it to your desktop or something.

No more crashing here either and just in case it matters any I'm running Vista 64bit with an overclocked i7 965EE @4.2GHz and dual GTX 285's in SLI with 6Gb 18000MHz DDR3 RAM.

We did a huge fort raid on sulfer today, there were easily 200+ asmos there and around 150 of us, not a single person in my entire alliance DCed or crashed during the raid, which was refreshing because there is usually atleast 2

How did a thread describing how to report the possible cryengine.dll crash derail into another WoW-debate ?? That's also a nuisance : every goddamn thread on this forum is about WoW ( vice versa isn't the case I can assure you, folks -most often- have never even heard about Aion, let alone discuss it ) and how Aion is worse/better than that game .

You realize because you constantly derail perfectly useful threads like these into a WoW vs. Aion debate , mods have to lock each and everyone of them ??

A person may also want to educate themselves on collecting performance counter logs/data collector sets, analyzing the Aion client specifically. It's not a complicated task and the perfmon tool can be accessed by:

Start > Run (or hold down the Windows key and hit 'R')
perfmon
OK or 'Enter'

The process for collecting the counter logs will vary on OS (and for Vista, version), but nothing Google can't help with. Just search "perfmon". You can get far more granular with Windows XP Pro or Windows 7, anything lower than Ultimate on Vista and this is pretty much pointless.

Another good tool to use is Process explorer ( to list which apps are running before starting up Aion, you'd be amazed how many processes which are totally unnecessary are running ) .

You could use Process Explorer to see all of the open handles the Aion client is using (files it's accessing, like DLLs, etc), and also if it spawns other processes. You could then include those in the perfmon logs. Good point!

I was kind of wondering the other day why taskmanager in windows 7 wasn't replaced by process explorer.Sysinternals is owned by Microsoft so they could do so ( must have something to do with patents ) , in fact it's a subsdiary of Microsoft .

PE is far better than built-in taskmanagers .

Well, Windows Task Manager does also provide a more simplistic interface (my opinion), and is a forever evolving product of the original iteration. It also has handy links to other applets/executables/MMC snap-ins/network usage/perfmon/etc and the fancy graphs.

But I do agree that it would behoove Microsoft to incorporate some of the design mechanics of Process Explorer into the Task Manager Process tab. Maybe in an advanced form, like how dsa.msc can be made more worthwhile and useful by placing it into "advanced" mode.

Look at the source of all those images. They aren't mine. Different websites... spread out across the internet. GASP!, I Googled them. "Windows 7 Crysystem.dll crash" , "Windows 7 System Properties", "DXdiag properties..."

I think someone else in this thread said it best:

You're trying too hard.

There were people complaining that they were crashing. If they provide the right information about the game and their computers, you can decide whether or not it's on their end or on NCSoft's. They may not know where or how to get the information, if they want it fixed they'll provide the information so that a more qualified person can look at it and help them troubleshoot it.

Not this time.

Multiple posts deleted. This is a solid thread and deserves to be treated as such. Flames, WoW vs Aion, trolling etc will not be tolerated.

EDIT: No issues yet, but I haven't done a large scale seige in awhile. Maybe I will do one this evening to check.

We know you do. Still wondering why you come here.

As far as the topic, didn't see the usual few people disappearing and reappearing from alliance tab last night during siege.

That's swell you think this. Maybe make a constructive a thread about it? Because it has nothing to do with this thread.

More posts deleted, warnings will be given.

People, keep to the topic.

It will not be locked. I want people to, as the OP intended, post screen shots and error logs about the crashes. We can gather some solid info and shoot it off to NCsoft/the CM's so they can apply some more fixes (if need be).
