For those of you waiting for the compensation announcement.
Due to technical problems it's delayed 'til beginning of next week. Of course NC West can't communicate it via their webside, so it's only in german atm on Twitter... Martin Rabl (aion_amboss) on Twitter

/EDIT: will only apply for EU accounts afaik.
/EDIT2: if anyone finds this thread,,, EU players (not NA) get 1 free day of game time

Why would we get a compensation? Thats just ridiculous.

They want to say sorry to the EU community after last patch day's happenings.

Its not that I dont want free stuff, but tbh I think its far out that they give compensation because the servers were down on patch day.

I think it's because they said 4 hours and it turned into about 20.

Well it's a gesture nothing we can demand or that we have a legal title for... tbh I didn't want this to turn into any form of discussion (hot topic(!) everywhere already).
This is meant as general information for people who don't speak German and don't follow on Twitter since NC West isn't able to communicate on time with the EU players in english while Ayase is on vacation (eventhough Knite doesn't believe me ;)).

If your cable TV goes out for numerous hours, your service provider usually reimburses you at the very least. The purpose of this is to keep customers...

Uh yes? Time Warner, which is a terrible company in comparison to Comcast, even does it. You just have to call and tell them.

one time my cable internet kept going out over the course of a week. the isp gave me a discount on that months bill.

can't remember what mmo it was, but the server was down for a day due to a bad patch, we got 3 days extra placed onto our accounts. think it was aoc. had already quit by then, but it was a nice gesture.

compensating for disruptions in service is pretty normal. you might have to yell at a CS on the phone for an hour to get it, but at the end of the day they will give you a discount on your bill, a free extra, or some other compensation for the loss of service.

nothing wrong with speculating about what that compensation might be if any.

although my experience with ncsoft is that they don't compensate for anything, regardless of if it's their fault or not. the fact they mentioned it even in german surprises me.

sorry to say timwarner is a better company then Comcast by any means. only reason Comcast is doing well down south is due to the fact they are using timewarner old layout but there customer service BLOWS. Iv played with many friend from up north they tell me both service and customer service sucks from Comcast.

To answer other ppl yes 99% net/cable companys will comp you if you keep having problems and its there fault and not yours

Yes but Time Warner Cable is on the verge of going under so i can see that they would do anything they can to keep customers. Comcast is about the only choice of internet and cable in my area (except satellite) but i have never really gotten any compensation because i live by a university overrun by college kids that choose to use comcast to download their pron instead of the schools internet (because they block torrents) and i get terribad connections during the night.

I'll have to call them and gripe and see if they do anything.

Compensations are nice. They don't have to give them out, but it's a good way to keep customers happy.

I had comcast here in SoCal before Time Warner bought them out of this area, and Comcast was much better from my experience. Time Warner's internet is constantly going down, and its terrible trying to get a hold of their customer reps. Anyways, the fact remains, when companies provide a service, which Aion is, they reimburse for times when that service is not working ... as it should be.

I'm not sure, but when I submitted a ticket, the response I got from the GM was that the crashes (resulted in 12+ hrs of unplayability) and such were "expected" and that we would not be compensated for it. Terrible customer service rep...

Compensation? That's definitely unexpected. I dare say my faith in NC Soft is proliferating.
