Auto-Completing Aion Support Tickets
Written for Aion NA/EU
Written by: Bunny
Last Updated: 22 November 2009

Introduction:

This guide explains how you can use free Firefox and IE extensions to automatically complete NCSoft Support Tickets.

Firstly, the Real Money Trading (RMT) and Botting problems have grown so rapidly in Aion since the September launch that many of us are finding it hard to stay motivated to help and make regular reports. While it is true, the /AutoReportHunting command allows quick and easy reporting in-game, many of us are finding that the same old bots are still hanging around for days after they have been reported this way. When this happens, one of the best things you can do is raise a manual support ticket via the NCSoft website.

Raising manual support tickets via the NCsoft website does actually work. If the right information is included in the ticket, the support team are able to investigate and deal with the reported player(s) quickly and easily. The only problem is, in reality most players aren't prepared to spend their precious hours of available gaming time filling in support tickets over and over. Also, those that do have the time are often unsure how much information to include, so the process can be doomed from the start.

This is where automatic form filling comes in. After just a few minutes setting yourself up, you can complete all your future NCSoft Support Tickets completely and correctly with just a few clicks - meaning in future you will only need to add player names to a ticket before you submit it. It really couldn't be much simpler!

Auto-Completing Aion Support Tickets:

Setting yourself up to automatically populate Support Tickets is simple and easy if you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox. To sum it up, all you need to do is install the right extension, add the NCSoft support ticket form information, and you're good to go. It seems like such a simple process, but it is certainly likely to appeal to those of us with that ingrained lazy streak

Example of a Good Support Ticket

Before we get started with the gadgets, lets talk about what should be included in your average support ticket.

One of the big problems with manual support tickets is that a lot of the time people aren't sure what information to include. It is actually possible to include too much information, or certainly the wrong kind. NCSoft Support have advised that when you are reporting RMT or Botting, you only need to include the server name, the violation you are reporting, and the player names. Anything more than that is unecessary and slows down the process.

There is no need to spend time attaching screenshots when you are reporting Real Money Trading or Botting.

It is also better if you keep the ratio of names reported to tickets submitted as high as you can. It’s much easier and faster for the support team to review ten names in one ticket than it is to review ten names on ten tickets.

Below is an example of a good support ticket layout. You can literally copy and paste the contents of this into your form when you are configuring whichever extension you intend to use. Alternatively, if you don't want to configure your form values manually, you can import the pre-made profiles for Firefox or IE below and amend the values to suit your own content.

DON'T FORGET: In the below example, if you configure the Firefox or IE extension correctly, you will only ever need to complete the items in [GREEN] in future when you are creating new support tickets!
Example of a Good Support Ticket:

* Your Email Address (lower case): your-email@address.here

* Subject: Your Server Name : Name of Violation

* Question:
Server: Your Server Name

Violation: Name of Violation (keep it short, like "Botting" or "Real Money Trading" )

Character Names:
Insert Reported Character Name
Insert

* Product: Aion

* Category: Rules and Policies

* Department: Violation Report

* NCsoft Account: None

*
Game Account: Your Aion Login Name Goes Here

* Operating System: Unknown

* Character Name: Your Character Names Goes Here

Adding and Configuring the Firefox Extension

Use this section if you will be completing Aion Support Tickets using Firefox. Take the time to think about what you want each field in the support ticket form to contain, to ensure that your support ticket content will finish up being something you can use again and again. The easier you make it for yourself the faster you will be able to make reports later.
1. Add the Autofill Forms Extension to Firefox:

  • Visit the Autofill Forms extension page and click "Add to Firefox"
  • Click "Install Now" at the window prompt.
  • When the installation is complete, you will be prompted to restart Firefox.

2a. Either....Add the NCSoft Support Ticket Form Manually
:

  • Open the NCSoft Support Ticket web page in your Firefox browser.
  • Right click in one of the fields on the page and select "Add complete form as profile..."
    Posted Image
  • A new window will appear called "Autofill Form settings" with all the fields you need to setup from the support ticket.
  • Select each field and input a "Value" for it based on what you would enter if you were completing the form manually (refer to the example in section 1 above)
    Posted Image
  • When you are finished, click "OK"

2b. Or....Take a Short-Cut and Import a Pre-Made Profile
:

To make it a little bit easier for people, I have created a profile for the NCSoft Support Ticket page that you can simply download and import into Autofill Form. Use this profile if you are unsure how to enter all the correct values for your Support Ticket. Remember you will only need to set this up once.

  • Download the Firefox NCSoft Support Ticket profile -->Attached File  help.ncsoft.com.txt (1.38K)
    Number of downloads: 80
  • Select "Settings" from the Autofill Form menu on your browser.
    Posted Image
  • Select the "Profiles" tab and click on the "Import Profile..." button.
    Posted Image
  • Navigate to the text file profile you downloaded and click "Open"

  • Select the "Main" tab then select and edit at least the following Values:
    - Your email address
    - Your server name in the Subject Line
    - Your server name in the Question Line
    - Your Character Name

3. Completing a Support Ticket
In Future (only 3 clicks!):
  • Open the NCSoft Support Ticket web page in your Firefox browser.
  • Click on the Autofill Form button on your web browser bar.
    Posted Image
  • Amend whatever you need to amend in the forms content (i.e. add player & violation names) then click "Continue".
  • Click "Finish Submitting Question" and you're all done!

NOTE: If your email isn't already on file, you'll be asked to register it when you submit the form.

  • Open a blank NCSoft Support Ticket page and input the standard values you would like to use in each field on the form (refer to the example in section 1 above).
  • Click the "Save" button on your browser bar.

2b. Or....Take a Short-Cut and Import a Pre-Made Profile:

  • Download the IE NCSoft Support Ticket profile and extract it -->Attached File  NCSoft Support Ticket.zip (2.79K)

Appreciate the Post, but...

NCSoft doesn't care. IMO, if I put in a petition to handle an issue in-game and they tell me to go to some out-of-game website, they can kindly fuck off. I'm not leaving the game to do their job, and I'm not going to waste my time alt-tabbing to their site to type in the same exact thing I put in my petition in the first place. (Yes...I understand this post is to help with that)

They're lazy and they want us to do the work for them. I did my part by putting in a petition about an issue, in-game. They let me down by telling me to redo everything outside of the game on some BS website.

I understand you're trying to help...but you're helping the wrong entity here.

I come from games where "most" of the GMs actually do care, so I guess perhaps I'm biased. I've also been a part of the MMO CS experience and know when a company is just being retarded about this type of issue

EDIT: Also, given what I've seen so far, and their past history, NCSoft will not do anything faster to resolve issues even with this helpful topic. I will guarantee it.

Sometime in the near future I hope I will work up the motivation or anti-bot-rage to read through that huge guide :dizzy:
Sadly, going back to WoW :sigh:

The good news is, you don't have to read the entire thing (unless of course you use both Firefox and Explorer).

Thanks Bunny, I find it no trouble to put the info in by hand but I am sure people will find this most useful.

I want to let people know that the support tickets work realy well.

I have experienced first hand:

A response within minuits if not a few hours.
Bots banned within 2 days of the ticket.
The backlash of "I/My guildie was innocent NCSoft are out of order" that is spread via propaganda or ignorance of the facts.
It has to be pointed out that you never know what your guildie is up to on alts/other accounts, or what their involvment may be with other botters.

My faith in NCSoft is growing and my belief in any of these false ban stories is deminishing.

If your healer got banned for example then it may have been their cheating ways that messed up your game, not NCSoft.

Edit : Oh and Bunny can you confirm please which character name to put in the greened character name part of your example. I have been putting my character name in this section but including the offending characters name within the description of what happened. Your example however looks like this is for the dirty stinkin bots name.

Cheers 'sweety'

I think the green 'insert character name' lines are only for the dirty stinking bot... Either way, just make sure your name is clearly seperate, it'd suck to report yourself and get banned xD

Ahhh! hang on, my bad,

As I said I don't use the auto-fill but do it manually. I was mistaking the greened section for name as the one on the form. I see now that it isn't that but a one 'produced' in where I write a short description. NP Thanks.

I should have made this a bit clearer, I'm sorry. I've updated the bit in green to say "Insert Reported Character Name" instead.

Like you, I have found it really useful to use the report ticket system. I'm quite cunning sometimes, I login to multiple characters who are based in different towns...then I run around gathering up the names of the RMT people...I create a new ticket and paste the names into the ticket (sometimes 4-5 names per ticket - I do them all at once) then submit it. I am seeing an average response time of 3-7 minutes before the RMT sellers magically go "poof" from the server. It makes me cackle in evil ways I never knew I could achieve :D

Nice one, but I think the confusion was down to my missinterpretation. Nevertheless, much clearer now though.

re your bot/RMT reporting tactics, I'm impressed. Being bad to be good is great innit.

Keep up the good work, here and in-game.

Definitely try it, I'd lost all faith in NCSoft fail-support till I started using this autofill thing. Saves tonnes of time reporting bots and RMT.

I sent in a ticket last week with this whole form filled out and got an odd reply from the NCsoft GM team.

It was the generic thanks for letting use know about these characters etc. But followed by please use the /autoreporthunting. Hos something changed with this in-game function? Its pretty well known that this does nothing but apply a debuff if enough players report them but does nothing to get the actually banned for botting. I would like to know if this was just an error in the generic respons and to continue to use this forum or just use /autoreporthunting?

No they sometimes tell you to use /autoreport but they don't mean it. Raising a ticket gets a response, using /autoreport is fairly useless.

I just need to clarify. Who's name belongs in the "Character Name" Box under the Additional Information section?
