Just curious, i have 2 crit chances of making expert today, so would be wonderful to know if its possible to make a load off of expert tailoring or will mats simply be to high to the point i'll be forced to farm them and wait a age to craft anything? Fluxes are already through the roof, i'm going broke just giving myself two chances lol but im stubborn and i want this done!

its not a money maker, unless your charge people a fee for them with their crafting with their mats

Yes. LOTS.

Got Level 50 Blue Leather Shoe crafts from Hot Balaur Hearts that I farmed myself. In that time, managed to get most materials I needed, just had to spend 2m on Berserk Egos. The shoes proc'd and sold them for 15m. Went for a second try many days later, bought most mats this time, cost me exactly 5.012m. And.... the shoes proc'd again, trying to sell 'em for 20m.

So basically, with EXTREME lucky, Tailor turned me from poor to rich.

Nope as I said it depends on the server economy . . . on gorgos i can even make a decent proffit on blues when i buy 80% of the mats on broker.

But yea some servers have fluxes with price on par with the gold gear you can make from them.

Meh its a moot point to me now. I failed 3 attempts lastnight for expert on the blue jerkin, yay for green items that sale for less than the dam fluxes if im lucky! So I'm broke and bitter. I'll get over it eventually, but atm i'd like to set those magical looms on fire.:flames:

People playing this game are so stupid. Non procs sell for less than the fluxes, nevermind the other mats. People really need to stop doing this crap and at least sell for mat cost. Then you have the idiots who buy 5 sets of mats to have someone make the gear for them, and then get their proc, and sell the non-procs for WAY less than mat cost, because they don't care, they got what they wanted from their crafter and then turn around and fu** that crafter by fu**ing the market. GG people.

Trying to sell a 48 expert blue shoulder and there is a guy selling some for 1.9m, and the fluxes cost me 1m each (requires 2).

It used to be highly profitable. I was one of the first expert tailors on my server, and back then we were selling non proc for mats cost plus a nominal profit. The procs were selling for roughly 50% to 75% more than the non procs.

Now I make almost no money with it except when i get lucky with mats.

The problem is that Mats are now 4x what they were, but people are still selling for the same prices instead of 4x.

And Cloth stuff on my server has always been more expensive to make, yet sells for the same or less than the leather stuff.

With your logic people should also sell procced items at cost.

Well the problem is with flux cost. Flux is so high, you make no money unless you proc a item. Greens don't even sell for half the cost of fluxes. I just know it broke me trying the final step in the expert tailor quest and I wont be trying again for a loooong time.

If you are going to make a profit on this stuff, it will be on the balic leathers, not the balic cloth.

Simple reason.

Balic Cloth requires Boiling Blood, i.e.Daevonian Quest Crafting Items. Do not want to feed these into an RNG to get a crit, especially not 50+ of them when they can sell for 100K+ each individually.

Balic Leathers do not. You will be farming the jangles out of these silly mobs and have nothing to do with the other balic components.

As more and more crafters hit expert you can expect profits/utility to decline while demand for mats rise. Profits/utility will eventually keep dropping until profits/utility is at loss. For example, if the game has a consistent proc rate of 25%, prices will eventually drop to the point where the cost of 4 sets of mats will equal the market price of the 3 non procs and the procced item.

I wouldn't know because I can't afford the fluxes(and the design itself in some cases) to take the final test in the first place. I'd be curious to know the average price of these same mats on other servers because its essentially preventing more of us from achieving our goal through a nasty combination of a short supply and straight up greed. Just gives you an extra incentive to level up so you can find these fluxes yourself and prevent this gross overpricing from occurring on the broker.

You are guaranteed a decent profit if you crit, however if you don't crit got to consider certain things. Have other people got the same piece on broker, prices on broker. Before more and more people got expert, a pair of blue expert shoes would go for at least 4 mil, now 2 mil for the fluxes then the rest you would make a small profit/break even.

Now of course those same blue shoes now go for 1.5mil-2mil so you take a loss. Now the main problem in this is the kinah buyers who mass produce trying to get a crit to make a huge return then just sell the blues low to make some of there kinah back since they have no regards to what they lose.

Main problem with that is this, kinah buyer sells 5-6 blue shoes on broker for 2mil. 1 person decides to have a pop at it and fails goes to broker to sell blue shoes and sees 5-6 on broker for 2 mil. That person is not going to put them up for over 2 mil because it will never sell or take forever so puts them for 1.9 and so on and so on.

Now I see expert blue shoes up for anything from 700k-2mil this is today.

However I think the kinah buyers are getting banned/or decided its not profitable anymore and not crafting anymore, usually only see the odd expert stuff now less than 2 pages of different things.

But look at the broker before you craft anything for profit.

Yes you can. Make blue stuff for lowbie alts and price them high (5-10 times material costs).

Even the greens sell at about 1.5 times your material costs.

You can make money on tailoring if you are not an idiot. I'm only 250, and i've made 2mil at 170.
