If I am asmo templar, and I'm specced for tanking, I'm going to want as much health a possible, and I'm going to put as little resources into damage dealing and more into life increases ones. Basically i will do **** base damage in the end with all my defense buffs and such. Ok, but the DP skill states that I have to do damage to gain health as opposed to the perfect thing for tanking that the elyos get in +30% health. this is bullshit, i want +30% health. Im not a ****ing necromancer or some ****.

wtf. everyone know hardbuffs are better than things you can't control, like being able to inflict damage on your opponent. its pvp and pve 101. any GW and WoW players know exactly what im talking about, or at least they should.

You did pretty well ;)
From my other post: In general, the asmo skills tend to be geared towards going offensive, even at the expense of one's hp and vulnerability and elyos prefer defensive skills. On paper, the asmo skills look more interesting to me as it might take a bit more time getting used to them. Also, dont just look at one aspect of the game, the templar asmo skill is probably more useful in pvp than the elyos skill. (Note: its just an example. I dont want any of you sado's trying to prove me wrong with speculative replies. Peace)

Besides if you want the best of both worlds with your characters go play Hello Kitty Online (Horrendously awesome game, I have a founder account on it rofl) At the end of the day we have to face it, Elyos based characters are going to be good for some things and Asmodians will be better for others.
You just can't expect the ultimate tank when you're playing on the race that seems to be getting geared up for offensive based combat, that's not to say you'll be gimp or anything but its just too idealistic to assume everything is going to go your way just because you told it to.
The game is diverse, adapt.

1 simple sentence for this : Its the flaws that makes it interesting? :D
Heck, everybody could have gm weapons and 1shot everyone. That would last 1 hour, then you'd be bored of it. If you don't want a challenge, then I agree with Cynic. Go play Hello kitty online! I've never even played it, but I hear so much talk about it. Seems like I must try it?! xD
Hah.

Next is the fact that having higher health and damage, vs having higher damage and inversion to health is very competative. If you have more health and do more damage, than your going to be able to take and deal more punishment, if you deal more damage, and get health back, than your going to regenerate yourself and still take more damage. They may reward different builds, but they both have significant tactical values, if your able to dominate your opponent, dealing more damage and inverting it to health will offer more reward, if your more party reliant, having more durability will be more effective. Since PvP in this game is more or less mosh oriented, having several templar sustain their own health is a significant benifit over increasing their own health. What is 30% more health if the alternative can restore 60% health with attack restoration, it's all relative.
But most importantly, didn't they change around all these DP abilities to be the same for both races? Or was it they changed it to be seperate for each advanced class and different for each race? I know they made changes, I don't remember what, it's been to long, someone post the link.
May the Balaur overcome ALL! Mua Ha Ha Ha Ha!
