After fighting some elyos for the spawn nodes every hour for 3 days... i logged in yesterday to a gold box right infront of mine eyes. WOOT! Mask + 150k kinah + 100 life pots + ice claw cloth piece (cant remember and don't care). Now, which toon to give it to? My lvl 36 templar found it... should prob get it. Looks awesome.

Are you sure it's 50mins-1hour because I'v been breaking boxes, checking the time and logging in 50 minutes later, wait 10 mins and nothing happens, no boxes. If someone is ninjaing them then it's happening the split second they come up. I haven't even seen another person in the village yet so it just seems unlikely.

I am very sure of the 50 minutes to an hour. Been camping boxes for a very long time.

Just those 3 spawn locations can spawn the chest, to my knowledge.

nope, anything with a level stops dropping loot when you're 10 levels higher. Since the chests are lv 28, you won't get anything.

Yasashiku, I'm curious as to how often you've seen the rarest of the chests spawn? I've been camping a week now which I'm certain is not nearly as long as I should expect. I've only seen the red box about 10 times and all other times the brown box. (about 5-7 hits a day)

That sounds about right to me. I'm not sure how the drop rate increases in the patch today are going to effect boxes. I've only seen 1 gold chest so far, mostly brown chests, and a few of the larger red chests on live since 2.0. The spawn rate for the red chests seems to have gone up for 2.0, but I never noticed the gold chest spawn rate going up.

BTW - the gold chest doesn't guarantee a good drop, it just gives a bigger chance of it. You can actually get the drops you want from the red chests. I got the water spirit mask out of a regular brown chest too.
