[Beta Test Season 2] - Q&A Developer's Note from Week 1
[PC] Q: I've heard that both Gladiator and Templar have been improved in CBT2. But it feels as if the rest of the classes are not as good as before. It seems as if chanters became worse than they were last year, also I was going to level a socerer but I've heard that they are harder to level than before? Dev: We've received a lot of feedback and opinions regarding class balance after CBT1, and we've been discussing it a lot. We do know that every class requires review, as for now however, we had decided to review Gladiator and Templar first in preparation for Season 2 CBT. We will work on the other classes after reviewing their abilities in Season 2. We do know that many things still need to be adjusted, tweaked and balanced but please do understand that we feel that it is necessary to receive opinions of our Aion Beta Testers first before making changes. We will reward our testers' efforts by improving Aion as we receive more feedbacks. Q: I've read in an article about Players commenting that it is faster to level an Asmodian character than an Elyos character. I'm very curious as to what the developers feel regarding this issue. Dev: Yes, we've already explained this in a previous interview. Elyseas will level slow at the beginning when compared to Asmodians but much faster in the later contents. For Asmodians, it's vice versa. They will level fast early in the game but slower in the later contents. Therefore, the effort and time required to reach max level for both races will balance out in the end. We've set the level cap in Season 2 CBT to be 34, so I guess you can say that the Asmodians do have an advantage in leveling up to this level. We hope that players will not get the wrong idea that we're favouring Asmodians over Elyseas. Q: Once I hit level 9, I was able to become Deva and complete a quest that rewards the divine skillbook. But since all the classes are listed, if I picked the wrong one, there's no way to reverse this and I won't be able to learn my divine skill instead. Dev: We are aware of this issue and we will look into it as it does affect players heavily. [Level] Q: I've visited the newly released zone after reaching level 20, but one thing I noticed is that when compared with the earlier zones, there aren't as many quests to complete. Do players have to rely on grinding in order to level up once again? Dev: What we've intended is for players to wonder around 3 different areas after level 20 which include the current +20 zone we've released, as well as Abyss. As you all know, we've only released 1 level 20 area as of now, since we have not yet completed abyss and another area. Players are currently experiencing 1/3 of the +20 contents. Please believe that we're working hard in order to release the rest of the contents to our testers as soon as possible. Q: There has been a problem regarding the respawn timer and rate for players in the CBT2 as there are often too many players and not enough monsters. Dev: We are aware of the issue, and will work on implementing a new system after receiving feedback from our testers. We hope that our testers will be patient with us while we address these problems. [Quest] Q: Certain quests rewards are just not worth the effort spent on completing the quest. Don't we deserve better rewards for the effort we put in? Dev: We will look into the quests and improve the current rewards that does not scale with the effort spent on completing the quest. Q: It has been quite challenging to turn in quests as some NPC tend to move around or attack any monster that comes within range. Would there be a chance for Quest Givers to be stationary? Dev: Every NPC are programmed to assist the players from the same faction and to protect the area by patrolling around therefore it is hard to have them stay at one spot. However we will think of a way to make things easier for players. [UI] Q: There was an option to select custom eye colors but it was not included in CBT2, please add it back? Dev: It was removed while we were designing the character customization of CBT2, but we will consider reimplementing it into the character selection later. Q: As you know there had been a series of server crashes. Everytime the server goes down unexpectedly, shortkeys and macro settings were lost in the process. Please develop a way to have these setup saved even if the server crashes. Dev: We've been trying to solve the server crashes as our first priority. We will also look into the system to fix this problem and make it better overall. Source: http://aion.plaync.co.kr/plan/devnot...e?articleID=12 |
